As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Wasn't too sure which thread this might go on....No doubt it will end up another anti-wenger thread
Celtic have introduced/opened their new Safe Standing Terraces...If this is proven to work, then hopefully other clubs will be able to follow suit, even though the laws regarding terracing in the England & Wales doesn't apply in scotland...<fingers crossed>
Safe standing in PL grounds would be fantastic for the traditional fans and for the atmosphere. I'm sure the dinosaurs at the top of the FA, many of whom know nothing about football, will dismiss it.
If it were to be introduced in the PL I can't imagine the clubs would reduce the ticket price accordingly. Also the elfin safety knobs would insist that someone standing needs the same space as someone sitting so no increase in capacity either.

I'm sure a lot of fans of most clubs would be very much in favour of safe standing areas even if ticket prices remain the same - for a lot of fans, sitting down makes them feel restrained and has a very detrimental affect on atmosphere, so at least standing up might lift those things somewhat. I for one would love to see safe standing area's behind the goals but not just in a small area by the corner flag

I much prefer standing at any game - It also allows for more physical inter-action in the sense that the body automatically reacts when there's a near miss or a goal or whatever - It is so much more fun that fuckin' sitting there - even when sat I always join in the chants/songs - but you can see some wankers looking over or turning their heads and looking as if to say shhhh I'm trying to watch the game.. FFS! Most likely the same cuntts who sagn TOOAW last season...bunch of moronic passionless sheeple
Can you imagine trying to fill a standing area at The Conglomerates? Cue JCL cúnts whining about people bumping into them whilst they are on their iPads.
Also, standing might make people want to sing and chant and JCL cúnts don't like that. The text-a-cúnt (sorry - steward) service would go into meltdown!

I don't think that you have really bought into this self-policing scheme have you DB ?
Have to agree with DB on this one, all those people standing in close proximity like that is going to play havoc with my 4G connectivity. It's a resounding no from me

I've bought into it as much as Adolf Farage bought into the EU.

Certain blocks at the Emirates have always been unofficially standing. As long as you are not blocking the aisles the steward are quite content to stand at the back, watch the game and let you stand. Been like that for years. Most of the away games I've been to have also been standing so I'm not really sure if we do actually need official safe standing crush barriers when it has worked well without them for years.

Also, your Latte might get spilled. Or the ketchup from your jumbo hotdog might end up on your brand new jersey. Some of these fucking ignorant soccer fans like to jump about celebrating goals and such, y'know....
