I find it very strange that harmless pictures of boobs can't be posted as a bit of fun to cheer the guys up after the defeat last night.!!
Before you start saying that it might offend people well I suggest you look back at some of the other postings where people are using the word C**T every other word, saying about taking a swastika to work to wind up a spurs fan and there's a spurs fan on this forum calling us a bunch of C**t's.....So I gather that this is ok though???
Obviously not! The problem is that what posts should be changed is very subjective. It's a matter of peoples opinions isn't it. I wasn't offended by it but there might have been others that would be and the mods have to consider that I suppose. I think there are also possible legal ramifications of posting 'adult material'.
Tell Gus to get on here asap as we have a spud among us and I am fighting him off almost single handed at the moment.
I agree with you Spudmasher but its frustrating when in some ways I think some thing that are posted on here could be seen as just as offensive in some peoples eyes. ie...have you seen Rebels picture on the thread that has all the pictures depicting everyone on here, where its a baby fiddling with something!
Its hilarious but some would find that its not but that has stayed on the site but a pair of boobs(albeit with a willy between them)has been deleted.!!

we've been here once before and i don't have time to find the previous thread on uk obscenity laws.
so in brief...
images of erect penises, or detailed portrayal of female genitalia are classified as obscene in this country. the gif concerned featured an erect penis.
so it was deleted on the grounds of the law in this country.
be warned that this can also happen regarding libelous/slanderous remarks about individuals or companies. sometimes things are censored to protect the forum from being taken down by the hosting company.
keep pushing the boundaries and it won't be mods who are censoring you, it will be our providers telling us they refuse to host the forum. and there won't be a forum here for you to worry about.
if you want other members to view porn, it's simple. paste a url of the relevant page you want them to visit (which will be registered outside the uk, unlike this one), but critically, in your thread, state it's porn so no-one clicks on it unknowingly. then those that feel the need can go there and have a ***** while those that want to use this forum for football banter feel safe to do so.

Do the moderators have access to everybodies e-mail address?
If so would it not be prudent to drop people a quick explanation of why posts have been modified/deleted to stop complaints appearing on the forum?

if the swastika one hasn't already been deleted, then PM me the thread url and i will take care of that. we won't allow racism on the forum. that's policy. the 'c' word is asterisked in thread titles - it's regarded by the publisher of the gooner as more offensive than other swearwords - but there aren't enough hours in the day for asterisking it within threads themselves.
so in my book neither of the above are ok, but i don't have time to read even 10% of the stuff on this forum, let alone start editing it. so it's down to the users to try and be responsible. this forum is what you make it.
At first I thought the worst...I feared gus had been banned...good to know he's still around. Let him know he'll be greeted warmly upon his return Mrs Gus!

yes they do. and i think sometimes email correspondence does occur. in this instance, it seems that gus did not see what was wrong with his gif, and that it was harmless.
i trust i have explained why it wasn't in this thread. if this kind of stuff becomes a regular occurance, contractually, our provider can just pull the plug.
