Even though it's The Sun they wouldn't print this unless they were sure that it was true enough not to get sued.

I know you shouldn't revel in someone elses misery... but sod it! This is hilarious. Not only is Ashley in the shit, not only is she minging - but he also has a small todger. Brilliant.

Or they are relying on the accused not wanting to take the paper to court as the publicity will only spread the rumours.

and if they get sued, they print a minor correction and lose a bit of money as their insurers stump up the cash for the loss. Cashley's relationship may still be destroyed and his reputation further sullied for something he may not have done
