Ethan Nwaneri

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ethan Nwaneri

Post by OneBardGooner »

I looked to see if there was already a thread for this Arsenal player, but couldn't find one (*):

We've all seen glimpses of what he is (and hopefully will in the future be) capable of.. Only 18yrs of age at the moment, but showing so much Potential & Promise..

I saw this very brief video of some of his moments playing for England's U19's against Bulgaria U 19's

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq1oX4ngAqY

His goal is on 45 seconds of the Video

But his skills @ 1min 58 seconds to beat and lose two opposition players is something else.

(*) If there is already a thread DB just delete this or whatever.

Don't think we have one, OneBard. The kid should be getting more game time.

And if he couldnt get more game time when odeargod was out injured, what are his chances of seeing much game time in coming weeks and months now that everyone is fit ? If his manager trusts jesus, sterling and out of form merino, martinelli and trossard ahead of him, then I worry about his prospects under the cone boy

From what we've been able to see of him so far shows he has great technical skills plus his awareness is impressive. He looks like he can pick out a pass too.
Hope to see much more of him this season.

Looks a great prospect and agree he should have been played when odegaard was out, maybe arteta didn't want to overburden the lad, who knows,t he could have flourished or bombed, he's very young still.

I think playing Merino and rice made us too predictable and starved us of creativity.

I don't think arteta could predict trossard was going to be out of form the same time as martinelli, just shows we are light in these areas.

I don't think we can criticise Merino too much, he's only played a few games for us and just back from injury.

I'm more concerned about partey being right back for a length of time, we definitely need strengthening there.

Agreed mate, too early to judge Merino, he needs time to settle in. Hopefully he turns out to be a good signing.

Absolutely anonymous when he came on. Hid from the ball. No idea why we took Odegaard off. When Rice and Odegaard went off for Jorginho and Nwaneri the win was never going to come.
