But it's a lot better than last year. We recorded a loss of £17.7m, which probably goes some way to explaining why there was not a lot of outlay on transfers last summer. Recording a loss of say....100m would have put us in a very very bad place for PSR.
Evidently the sales of Nketiah, Smith Rowe, Ramsdale and Biereth don't come into the figures until next season which means we have around 100m to spend before taking into account any budget we have planned for transfers anyway.
I do think this means we will spend big in the summer, my guess would be close to 200m again and it'll basically be Arteta's final shot at building a PL or CL winning team as he'll have spent close to 1billion overall. It's fair to assume the owners will probably not back him further unless we started selling big assets like Saliba or one of our other 'jewels'?
Assuming that the reports are true about transfers, we could be looking at Sesko, Nico Williams and Zubimendi coming in for around £175m. We'll get Jorginho and Partey off of the wage bill and quite possibly a couple of others - Zinchenko, Trossard and Martinelli would not be a surprise and they could bring in over 100m if Saudi buy Trossard. So a net spend of pretty much zero with the sales last summer. We'll have a bloody small squad again though!

We won't sign zubimendi bigger and better things for him I think. And Williams.
Also reckon saliba will leave

Zubimendi is pretty much done. I think Nico Williams could happen and then possibly Sesko so I agree with OP that we will shpend big in the shammer.the playing mantis wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2025 7:42 pmWe won't sign zubimendi bigger and better things for him I think. And Williams.
