There isn't a hope that we'll turn this around!
PSG are 11/10!

Re: PSG A Big lugs Semi final 2nd Weds 8th May KO 8pm
Wednesday the 7th of May??...just in case people jump in the car a day early!
After turning us over at home without us landing so much as a flaccid jab on them, and after saturdays (nay this seasons assortment of) debacle v Bournemouth....its very hard to see anything but a very comfortable home win for this.
On a more positive note just go into the game and cliche i know but keep it tight, dont do nothing stupid....you might not win it in the first 20 minutes but you can sure as fuck lose it.

Very hard to see us getting anything at PSG.....truthfully the team is not up to it...weak squad and too many sub standard players...all on top wages of course...and a head strong stubborn manager who is poor (non existent) at ingame tactics
that said we have Saka, Rice and Saliba (until he leaves for Real madrid) so with a herculean effort and an early goal who really knows....just want them to really go for it...win the 50/50s like they did at our place...put up a fuckin fight

Put it this way... If ... And Yes That IS a BIG Fuckin' "IF" we were somehow able to Win this and Progress to the Final.. I would not care a slippery flying fuck who we faced in the Final, because to Actually Achieve the Nigh On Impossible and Beat the FroggyFuckCunts and go through... It would be Destiny Meant Us to Win The CL Cup This Season!.
I had a Dream! (No! Not That One!)
There Was This Ancient Looking Tibetan (Kung-Fu type) Monk doing 'I-Ching' readings ...and the reading said "Arsenal To Be Crowned CL Champions in May 2025" Yeah! I knowww Spookey as fuck huh!?
Then I heard Yoda's voice say:
"The Force Is Strong In This One!"

And Master Po Agreed:

ps: Mind you that fucking smouldering cauldron was HOT!!!

I think we have a decent chance with partey back.
The only thing is the inevitable shit the togs in the final if we get there.

Unfortunately I can't see us getting a result away at PSG. Apart from the Madrid games we have been utter shit.
We are lacking in too many key areas. The most obvious being a striker that can finish the few chances we create.
Then we have an invisible gutless coward for a captain/playmaker....
Add to that Arteta's complete lack of an ability to manage games and we are very unlikely to get past PSG.
We can of course always hope. But as the last 20 years have clearly demonstrated, hope does not win the PL or the CL.

Gotta be honest, IW8GM, I disagree. He was good in the Madrid games but has been utter shit in every other game. I think the Madrid games were a fluke for him. His display against Bournemouth, I think, is the real Partey; losing possession cheaply, getting outran while trying to track back, pissing passes all over the place.IW8Goalmachine wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 10:50 amI think we have a decent chance with partey back.

The only benefit I can see with him is it will free up Rice to play more advanced, but then Rice is inconsistent and is equally likely to have a blinder or be completely anonymous.

This. Spot on.
It was classic Partey in the Bournemouth game. Exactly why many of us wanted him sold 2 summers ago. The first game against RM was probably the best I've seen him play for us and he was very good in the second leg...until the brain dead booking....but those games stand out as very rare exceptions.
He's another of our squad that needs replacing, but there are noises about a new deal. Sadly, given our 2nd rate manager, it would never surprise me.

you can rely on partey to be inconsistent....one good game then the next week cant pass a ball 5 yards...Retro Gunner wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 12:08 pmDB10GOONER wrote: ↑Tue May 06, 2025 10:58 amGotta be honest, IW8GM, I disagree. The news is that even though ohdeargod was seen limping down the tunnell on Saturday (possibly as a result of being ragdolled for the winner) he's perfectly fine and fit to face PSG.
In my defence i never said it was good news!!

The only hope I think we have is that PSG get caught with a mindset problem i.e. do we hold what we've got? It can be a funny thing knowing that a draw takes you through, especially when you're at home and normally an attack minded team. They really missed the chance to make this a dead rubber fluffing those two piss easy chances at ours last week. The Barcola one in particular was glaring - if one of ours had been that laid back with the tie in his hands, I'd be fucking livid. The one where the fella rattled the bar was a very weird toe poke and its clear from his reaction he half expected to be flagged offside. Those two misses have given a slight hope where as there would have been none
We need to score early though that's for sure. The annoying thing for me in the first game was that we had NOTHING in the last 30 minutes and the game petered out into f+++ all when we should have been pumping them for the equaliser. When we did step on it a bit in the last 15 of the first half and first 15 of the second, we made 2 very clear chances (Martinelli definitely should have scored, and Donnaruma made an excellent save from Trossard).
We live in hope. Go 1-0 up in the first 15 - penalty, corner etc - and its right back on. Go 1-0 down and I just can't see this team scoring 2 goals chasing a game

Every single one of our players needs to Turn Up From the off and Then Some...Every single one of them, not just the usual one's like Decca's & Timber and MLS who even when having a not good game still give 101%.
Thing is if Partey does go missing; which he does 9 times out of 10, all the midfield defensive work falls on Decca's who we rely on the drive the team forward and up the tempo because captain (
) invisible will probably do his usual run around a lot in the initial press, but take 4 touches for every ball and so slow things down, turn needless circles on the spot till every fucker is Dizzy and Most Definitely Bottle any tackles (I have yet to see him put in a Serious "Ave That" tackle)...
But who can we play instead of him?
Nwaneri?... For Sure I'd give him a chance because he 'Knows" how to take on Defenders (without running in endless circles) and how to Score.
Also time for Saka to earn his corn.
Martinelli has improved slightly the past 3 weeks, but he just keeps on running down blind alley's wasting time when he could & should have passed sooner...Other than the goal against mudrid ... he has missed to many clear cut chances...
If we play like we did against Mudrid then Yes we can do it, but those were probably our 2 best games of the season (except cheaty ) and perhaps it was Mudrid's worst.
But if the likes of Jorginho (too old and slow etc), clivechenko and sterling (both Utter Dross) come anywhere near the pitch we are FUCKED.
As SteveO has said whoever scores first can go on and do Something.
