6 August 18:00 v Villarreal - Emirates Stadium, London

I know Falky usually does the Match Threads, but the Lucky Fucker is on his Hollibobs with his Family is some Sunny Clime.

Ticket Info:

https://www.arsenal.com/tickets/arsenal ... villarreal

"We will host Spanish club Villarreal CF in a pre-season match at the Emirates Stadium, which will be held on Wednesday, August 6 at 6pm."

This and one more 'Friendly' game and then we are off to play the MancScum, so no rush to sign Eze! :?

Its bad enough we tried to get him to sign a new contract with the charges hanging over him, but for a club to go out of their way to pay him a wage for two seasons when he’ll be fighting a rape charge is just insane.

As One Bard says, a guy that pretty much nicked a luxury living from us for about 5 years He should have been sold at least two years ago.

If I remember correctly, there were rumours about possible transfers a couple of summers ago for decent numbers…in the tens of millions. We kept hold of him, paid him another couple of years of top money for bang average performances and now he walks on a free. Once again, it’s like Wenger never left.

We learn fucking nothing.

For too long we have been football' s soft touch . Both players and agents have taken advantage of our inability to move players on when their usefulness has gone .
Probably this is because to attract them here , we are too generous with our contracts which any club interested in taking them on for a fee will not match. Hence the number that go on loan with us still paying a percentage of their wages.
Rumour has it that will be the path taken by Jesus to go back to Brazil and in all probability his Ukrainian mate wherever he lands up.
The test is going to be how Berta fares with selling , so far his buying apart from 1 deal appears to be doing well , to continue buying he will have to get fringe players off of his books what he gets for them may well be the deciding factor.

Exactly A11. Other clubs don't seem to fall into the same trap, or certainly not as often as we do.

Of course, Chelsea offer long and very generous contracts, but we are always on hand to help them out and overpay for the crap they're discarding.

It was Edu's job to sell players and get the best price. He was too busy being friendly and having BBQ's to do what was needed.
In Berta I think we have someone who will drive a hard bargain, but don't expect much money for the dead wood because it really is dead and pretty worthless!
I'd be happy if we could get 20m for Vieira, 10m for Nelson, Sambi will go on a free, Zinchenko will see his contract out, we must ask upwards of 30m for Kiwior. Even Martinelli is unlikely to bring in 50m, his stock is so low.

Martinelli's stock is so low because of the abusive comments made all over the media by people that in the main only watch him on T.V.
Television doesn't show the pitch just the immediate vicinity of the ball . In the ground you can see him making runs from the outside whilst the ball is played short to Saka.
I accept that people will argue that he doesn't take his chances but in my opinion he snatches at things because of a sense of desperation ,were he he used properly he would relax and return to the player that first arrived.
If he does leave , a team that moves the ball quickly through midfield will see his benefits and then everyone will slag us off for selling him.

Do you reckon Martinellis made look worse than he is because so much of our play get focused down the right via Saka and an overlapping white?

If ohdeargod stayed in a more central position and distributed more evenly would MArtinelli look a better player?

I tend to share this opinion. I think he might well blossom elsewhere. Lego Head's turgid tactics and the emphasis on the right flank with Odegaard and Saka does Martinelli no favours at all.
