Let’s try and stay online!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Let’s try and stay online!

Ok forum regulars. I am only just about to start going through what has been written about *** **** *** on Thursday morning 31st January, so right now, I am in no position to make a judgment.

However, as a precaution, if in future you wish to comment on **** **********, the best policy would be to talk in terms that do not obviously identify them – i.e. no mention of name, nickname, gender, description, roles on other forums etc. If there is any positive way of identifying them, then we run the danger of being taken offline again.

Our moderators will be monitoring the forum carefully to avoid this situation, so please understand that any actions they take to remove content are in the best interests of the site. Use your brains. If you want my own opinion, **** ********** actually enjoys the attention and you are feeding their ego by even acknowledging them. I wouldn’t bother myself.

(JESUS CHRIST, IT COMES TO SOMETHING WHEN YOU HAVE TO ASTERISK YOUR OWN POSTS JUST TO STAY ONLINE :!: )

(FEB 7TH - I'VE REMOVED THE STICKIE FROM THIS THREAD AS I'M HOPEFUL WE CAN GET BACK TO WHAT THIS FORUM'S SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT - EXCHANGING VIEWS ON ARSENAL AND FOOTBALL WHILST HAVING A LAUGH. I DON'T WANT THIS SH*T DOMINATING THE TOP OF THE BOARD, BUT THE MESSAGE HAS NOT CHANGED. PLEASE BE CAREFUL TO AVOID US GETTING TAKEN DOWN AGAIN, AS SOME OUT THERE MIGHT WISH)

The biggest shame in my opinion is that someone has enough time on their hands to put effort into causing malicious disruption and inconvenience for no reason.

If my life was motivated by such action I'd say it was time to re-evaluate it and take some time out. People like this are sad lonely and without friends and I genuinely hold pity for them.

Just to think there are people with real issues in this world, people who have to walk miles for fresh water or medical attention. Yet others on this planet of ours have such an over-inflated egotistical impression of themselves and seemingly exist to cause grief for others.

I'm not hear to judge anyone, often people with issues have good reason. Past experiences, treatment from others, who knows it could be anything. I'm a firm believer in Karma though and in the end you reap what you sow.

Is their a game on this weekend, for a minute their I thought I was posting on The Life forum!

Rob.

the worst of it all was the timing. in a week in which we've had a lot of very positive feedback and been read by others due to the piece on monday about the return of some genuinely disturbing chants, many would have been denied the chance to read the piece whilst we were offline due to the problems related to the subject of the threads i will now continue editing/deleting

Tom, I PM'd you the details. I think it is disgusting that one sad loser can have such an impact on other people's enjoyment like that. What a bastardhole...

It’s a real shame that someone who clearly has some kind of desperate need to feel important has gone to such lengths to make a point. Had the person in question contacted a member of the forum, or Rob, or Kev and asked them to remove the offending material, then I’m sure that’s what would have happened. We’re a relatively reasonable bunch here, so I think just contacting one of our lot was all that was necessary. However, the person in question thought that would not draw enough attention to them, so they took alternative action.

Kev is quite right; this person does enjoy the attention, and the sooner we stop dignifying their petty behaviour with our acknowledgement, the sooner all of this can just get back to normal.

As I’ve said on a few other threads; it’s good to have the place back. Let’s keep it here.

Am in full agreement! it did not (obviously) contact the admins and as such has created a mountain out of a ant hill.

Have only been able to get on first thing this morning, had no idea that any of this was goin on, have just been on to the .com forum and they have locked the thread discussing the past couples of days events for fear of repercussions from us - the whole thing is gettin ridiculous  and some people are utterly contemptible

I hope none of the spuds make a complaint and ask to remove offending material. Removing anything said about them could take a looooong time.

It's good to be back, though :D :D
