The gooner is dead.....LONG LIVE THE GOONER!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The gooner is dead.....LONG LIVE THE GOONER!!

Post by MK Gould »

I read the posts last night on other forums (arsenal.com & the herd). Lots of lovely comments. Some even praising the knowledgable forum members.... :? !! But they all had one thing in common. They were all in the past tense. Like obituaries. Hard to describe my feelings. I really thought it was the end. It looked like the host was even trying to flog the site name! A life going forward without DB10...IHH....stearmaster..... charliegeorgewhocanhitem (my fellow old geezer!) etc etc. My "goonermates" as my mocking family describe you lot!

Anyway, its great to see you back. Not sure I fully understand what had happened. Maybe someone can PM me with the details - but please don't tell me on the thread.....

It also made me appreciate, a little more than normal, the fantastic effort that the unsung online gooner admin team put in to keep the site up and running (even at times when there isn't an "outside influence" trying to take it down!). Thank you guys!!

I share your sentiments MKGould, I think Rob & Kevin should both stand up and take the applause they deserve, I really thought our forum was to be just a fond memory. Smoothies Facebook group again proved to be pivotal in keeping us informed of what had gone awry.

Smoothie I often give you so much stick, thats cos you deserve it  but well done again mate. 8)

The really BAD news is rebel just rang me,and he can not get on to the forum. He is still getting that site we all had earlier. A mate of his living just 2 miles away has no problem.

Come on lads, start posting and pass him out on the number of postings

If you know someone who can't get on:

1. reboot PC/MAC
2. reboot modem /router
3. delete cache temporary internet files (browser options).

I had to do all of the above and I was only then getting the site if I used Mozilla Firefox.

It is a cache issue that will resolve in time.

Please let me know how you get on.

As Tone once said "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" - or word to that effect.

Rob.

Nice post MKGould. Couldn’t agree more. I must admit, I was surprised to see that so many forums were talking about us being shut down, and how fondly all of them were talking about us.

Online Gooner – still the best! 8)
