Speed Kills (Arsenal Songs!) (7/2)

usual thread starter…unusual piece this one. But it’s good someone cares so much about the noise we make. For me, it’s good we’re singing anything, regardless of the speed!

I have more of an issue with the drunk twats who cant even sing in tune with the rest of the lads or worse still sing their own songs cause they want to feel individual for once. What is this the England Supporters club. SING IT LOUD AND SING IT IN UNISON

I couldn't agree more with this. I only hope people read it and realise. I have also sat in various parts of the ground, and usually sit in the first row of the upper just above the Red Section. I have the advantage then of being able to hear what's going on below and can join in. Most people in the upper tier cannot hear what's going on in the lower, which makes it difficult for them to join in. But despite what some people in the red section think, there are lots of pockets of fans in the upper, singing songs and chants. It's just that it's rarely the same ones as the people below. But when the upper tier and the lower get going together, the sound rolling down onto the pitch is amazing
If the red section could just slow down a bit, it would give the rest of the stadium a chance to join in. It is no coincidence that the "Favourite team, world has ever seen" chant is the loudest, it's also one of the slowest. The Vieira one was sung in all parts of Highbury for the same reason.
I really don't see the attraction in speeding up songs and then making them shorter (Cutting the ole ole off of the Ian Wright chant was another shame). Can you imagine the effect at Anfield if they decided it's be a good idea to speed up we'll never walk alone (which actually the North Bank used to do when they did their parody of it).
Anyway, all that to say, good article.

I agree with this too. I went to the Fulham game and the noise was awesome, and it went on for ages, I got into a bit of a trance!

SLOOW IT DOWN AND GET THE SCARVES OUT!!

not only is bejaysus said paddy sung way too fast , you have to stand and sit at certain points of the song, something everyones forgotten about.
