usual thread starter… ok. Let’s say you are a home and away regular. And this happens. And Arsenal get sent to Australia or China for a game. Would you go? Does anyone out there actually want this proposal to go through?

First of all rebel its not the fa for a change, but the premiership clubs. all 20 of them involved.I think you are being very optomistic when you say they are just talking about it.Dont tell me Sky were not involved in the discussions. These ideas do not come out of the blue there must have been months of discussions for all the clubs to come to a unanimous decision.rebel gooner wrote:what a stupid idea,, we know they are greedy but this is rubbish,, thank fcuk they are only talking about it and have no plans for the moment,, the english fa want to get a reality check
The premiership has the fa over a barrel.Dont be suprised it the fa doesn"t back the plans the clubs will threaten to pull out of the fa cup

I am reaching the end of my tether
Anyone who thinks that the game cant go global should think again !
The *word censored* who run the FA and our own premiership clubs think only of money. Look at ours Edeleman is a Class a sheister who gloated over the amount of money he fleeces us for in the newspapers.
They pay us lip service but we all know they take the piss.
When Edelman gave us as an excuse for the rip-off price for pies he told us that they used german strandard beef which is more expensive.
Lying piece of shit !
You might not sell out in China for Big Bucks but you dam well would in OZ Thailand Malaysia and Singapore ,and face it it isnt the ticket prices this is done for its the TV money.
Get the addict hooked then jack up the price.
I lived in Singpore where they used to almost give the football away on a Saturday night............not any more Bars get charged through the nose and the price has trebled to the average punter in the last 5 years.
Similalrly the US is slowly waking up to football but they will want the big headliners over there not the also rans.
If football fans do not show a united front and have massive demonstrations against it then this shame will happen very very quickly !
The rpoblem is though unless these demonstrations end in large scale property destruction and violence they will ignore us as usual !

See I did warn about this guys influence and was called xenophobic and narrow minded. What the bloody hell are the Premier League doing even to think of playing matches 3 – 5,000 miles away? I had a feeling it was coming after last year’s NFL match at Wembley which was organised by? Stanley Kroenke.
See the NFL needs to do this sort of thing because internationally speaking - no one cares for it.
The Premiership is the reverse.
If they really want to exploit the overseas market can't they bring a bi-annual mid winter break when the ACN is going on and introduce an international Premiership tournament which is like on the Carling Cup level of importance but brings some cash - say four random teams picked each year?
Play the Charity Shield abroad in a different country each year?
There are many other ideas they can come up with without compromising the integrity of the Premiership - but what do the like of the Glazers and Kronke and the Liverpool pair care - it was only the money they were here for.

The loonies have taken over the asylum
This is the most disgraceful idea the Premiership has ever come out with and I can`t believe that Arsenal directors have gone along with it.Karen Brady the Birmingham City Chief Exec said `great idea can you imagine Brum playing Man Utd in LA in front of a 60,000 crowd`does she not realise it could be Brum playing Wigan in China in front of a crowd of 600.
Also,it`s entirely unfair for instance forgetting the 39th game for the moment suppose at the end of the season Wigan are third from bottom one or two points behind Brum this means Wigan are relegated while Birmingham are safe. However,if an extra game is played abroad Birmingham might get Manchester Utd,Arsenal or Chelsea which they will probably lose but Wigan might get one of the weaker teams who they would have a chance of beating which would mean Birmingham go down and Wigan stay up,how fair is that?
Just sack Scudemore and forget the whole thing.

The only plus side of this would be if the Scum got to play Bolton in downtown Baghdad at noon in the height of summer....but that's not going to happen is it?
I think perhaps this will be the first time that there will be a totally united front between all the various Premiership fans. There are just so many reasons not to do it. Namely:
Crap pitches to contend with.
Crap climates to contend with.
The unfair variations in travel times between various Clubs.
The adverse effects of jetlag on players.
The unfairness of a random 39th match pairing of Clubs.
The fact that someone at the top or bottom of the league will be adversely effected through no fault of their own.
Taking the piss out of all regular fans.
At no time in the season would such matches be fair unless all relegation and top spot places were already decided.
Additional matches for already overplayed players.
The horrible thought that this is only step one towards global footie for my local team.
Did anyone ask the fans, players or the managers about it? No. Because they knew what the response would be - the greedy money grubbing feckers!

Great article by Mark Halfpenny and Vic Crescit. If Premiership wants the foreign fans to watch their beloved heroes then clubs should travel to Africa and play there for free. OK? What, you are saying no? What are you going to do then, Mr Scudamore? You are going to put games into auction and the highest bidder will get them? Well, that's not nice. It's all about money, ain’t it?

I think there will be countries that will have two matches. For example, USA's Los Angeles and New York both can afford it and are quite afar.RaM wrote:Just on the question of the auction...
Will it be possible for one country to buy more than one match?
You are right there. There will 10 matches in the auction and it will get to the highest bidder. We all know that no African city or even a South American (not like they need it, they have their own clubs that they are passionate about) one can outbid a rich American, Arabian, Japanese or Australian city. So young boys in Africa who support Arsenal or Chelsea because of their African players; love and play football, won't see any action. Instead, fat and rich (key word for Scudamore and his cronies) Americans that are already indulged by entrainment, will be offered Premiership football on their doorstep. Maybe I wouldn’t begrudge Premiership football being played in Africa where a lot of great players come from and where people love football and play it. Maybe if the Premiership had done it for charity reasons then I would welcome it. But it is done for money, therefore I hate the idea.RaM wrote:Does this mean that there are only a small amount of countries even able to support a bid for a match?
