Sol Leaving/Whats next

Post by TOP GUN »

So Sols left, he's been a great player for us but lost his way last year after a couple of nasty injuries. His finest moment was winning the title at the lane that time forgot.

What next for us? We could have a really fresh looking side next year with jens & pascal being our only over 30's (quite incredible really), its going to be really interesting seeing what happens next. As usual there is all sorts of speculation, Ya Ya Toure and Saviola are the latest players being linked with moves but i would prefer a move for the impressive looking curtis davies and a tackling defensive midfielder

Thoughts?

sol has gone because...

johann djourou impressed at both world cup and when lining up with senderos for arsenal last season. i think wenger will feel he has 3 centre backs he can trust. can't see him signing curtis davies simply because he's english. wenger has simply given up on young english prospects.

amazed cygan is still at the club. either he has no ambition or no chance of getting his wages matched back in france - probably both. hope wenger doesn't play him anymore!

seems like sol was always going to go after the west ham game and it was just a matter of the club allowing him to play at the end because they were in need with senderos injured and djourou inexperienced. at least sol left with the positve image of the goal in paris. i haven't really studied the final as a whole due to not wanting to bring back bad memories. did he have a decent game aside from scoring?

as for other signings. i'm still not sure wenger's shopping anywhere but bargain basement, although i'd like to see saviola and yaya arrive. think saviola's too similar to rossicky though, so unless wenger's unloading reyes or van persie, i can't see room for him in the squad.
