Well?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

FECKING HELL!!   HAVING SEEN IT AGAIN FROM THE LAST ANGLE THAT LOOKS EVEN MORE LIKE A TERRIBLE CHALLENGE THAN AN ACCIDENT ONE, AS IT FIRST APPEARED TO ME. :x

I WONDER IF MATCH OF THE DAY WILL HAVE THE BALLS TO SHOW THAT ANGLE OR WHETHER, LIKE SKY, THEY REFRAIN FROM DOING SO? I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD, SO THAT ALL THE NEUTRALS WHO COMPLAINED ABOUT WENGER'S POST MATCH COMMENTS, CAN SEE WHY HE WAS MAKING SUCH A FUSS.

Thank you Hlebby, I had not seen it from this angle either but was sure that it would prove either way conclusive as far as intent or show that Taylor was in fact unlucky to have caused such injury. One must really question why Sky chose not to publish this footage and who were they trying to protect and why?

After seeing this I am so fucking angry

Well, BBC didn't show it.

Only that French channel in my video that did then.

Fucking hell, he really did just go for Eddie's leg. There was no attempt at getting the ball there. I've watched that four times, to make sure, but Taylor just went to take Eddie out, not with a trip but the foot coming down onto and through the shin. I'm not saying he literally intended to snap Eddie's leg but those clips do show a high level of violent intent.

I said earlier on a separate thread that I was sure the injury was the unintended consequence of rough-house tactics but it looks much more than that.

As a football fan, I really do hope the FA look at this with an eye on a very, very long ban. But as a lawyer, I do quite seriously think this should be considered for both criminal and civil court action.

Seeing the close-up photos was painful but seeing the moment his leg actually breaks is something else. You can see the way his the lower half of his broken leg actually moves around in mid-air, in the last moment.

I can't see the angle which shows his intent. Maybe they've taken it down. Any chance of another link?

Wayno - my Dad made a similar point yesterday.

I love that 'the only guy who could tell you if he meant harm was the guy himself'

Imagine that in a court of law

Judge: Well only the defendant could tell us whether he meant to batter that man into a coma

Defendant: No I didn't

Judge: OK case closed.

The most ridiculous thing of all of this is that Taylor will get the same punishment for that career threatning tackle on Eddie as Eboue will get for that stamp on Evra and worse as a certain Alaidiere will get for slapping (more of a touch than a slap) Mascherano.

The link shows different coverage now - it was Canal+ with three or four different angles, but has now been changed to MOTD.
