Wish the Grove was like this......

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Too many customers at the Grove who may as well just watch the game on tele with the amount of passion they show for the game!

I was in Italy the weekend. Sadly not at the San Siro for THE ITALIAN JOB 2 But I went to see Napoli v Inter Milan. I have to say the atmosphere there was electric. The Inter Milan team came out in their suitsto look at the pitch like we do on cup final day and they were met with an unbelivable ammount of boos and jeers. Again when they actually came out to warm up then they got more of the same and when the match actually started every time they had possession then it was all boing and jeering until they lost the ball. It really was intimidating and I was supporting Napoli !! Inter Milan were unbeaten at the top of serie A and Napoli were 10th/11th and Napoli won 1-0 . Vieira was playing too and looked like a shadow of his old self. Inter also had Figo, Zanetti, Crespo

The atmosphere has improved consdierably since last season, it was rubbish in games like against fulham and wigan at home after they scored, but this season is different. i went to 1-1 vs villa this season and there were much less coprporates in the clock end, great banter. but I have a question for you all since I only get to go to about 6 or 7 games a season. Do the West And East Uppers sing at all? I thought their lowers were quiet sometimes, the only time I can remember the uppers singing was against wigan at home 2-0, and probably man united and tottenham.

The trouble is the fans that want to sing and stand up are spread all over the ground. Before the ground was opened a whole end(the north end) should have been set aside for the singers.Where i sit i want to stand up and sing but the "new fans" around me keep sayinsg "sit down" thats after they turn up late and leave early.

Spot on mate. All the cnuts who call themselves fans piss me off big time. They should give their tickets to true fans who want to get behind the team, I would love it if that happened. Like I said, the atmopshere has improved but still neeeds work on the East and West and other parts. Imagine the old North Bank and Clock End song being sung at Arsenal, but more than just in RedSection.

Same here  I am not a big fan of signing but noise has to be made. 55 thousands Gooners standing up, clapping (maybe jumping) and screaming Arsenal as the team comes out, also during the match. It is not that hard but too many customers as you said.

Any away fans were in a like perspex glass cage with netting on the top to stop them getting things lobbed on top of them!! We got there 3 hours before kick off and the opposite side to where we were was half full ! All singing and jumping up and down. There seemed to be one leader in the middle of the crowd and they all copied him. There is one thing they do where they all just bop up and down ala House of Pains Jump Around  It was knackering but fun ! The other thing about the SAN PAOLO which I noticed was the teams come out of the ground just behing the goal under the ground which I presume was more for safety purposes!
