Technology?
Should football follow other sports and begin to use technology to aid the referees in making correct desisions?
I don't think so. It poses too many new problems.
What will be a big problem will be when to you use it. Will players be allowed to request it if the ref gets something wrong? If they can, the game will be stopped every minute. If they can't, but it turns out they were right then it removes the point in having the technology available.
Refing isn't an easy job. But it is not as difficult as is suggested by the amount and frequency of errors made by officials in this country. I think more effort should be put into training a better quality of ref, rather than implementing technology to do their jobs for them.

I don' t think we should add the technology, like was metioned above it would waste so much time but also be the end of football as we know it. I know we have a had a really raw deal and everyone seems to be out to get us but this is football, it has always been this way and thats why we love it.
I do agree however with training the refs and linesman properly to lessen the amount of mistakes that have been made, and get a clear cut offside rule that they all know

I dont like the idea. What I think they should implement though is the ref being miked up to let everyone know certain decisions. The mike shouldnt be on all the time, but when he calls a player over and the foul is not obvious, he should signal to the player that he is about to turn on the mike so whatever the players says can be heard in the stadium so dont swear. Then he should explain to the players like 'you are being booked for consistently fouling, your last foul wasnt bad but it is the 4th in this half so you are booked'. This stops fans getting frustrated at a player being booked for a minor offence. or 'you are being booked for foul and abusive language' then he can turn the mike off so no one hears the players rant. In situations like at Cardiff he wouldnt need to turn the mike on as it is obvious why people were sent off, just for decisions that are only obvious to the ref because somehting has happened on the pitch that we as fans in the stand are not aware of.

I do think that Goal line technology would be advantageous 'cos there is no way that Linsmen and referees can see clearly if a ball has crossed the line. I also believe that ref's should be miked up but not so the fans can hear. I think it should be used to allow referees assesors to judge how well the ref has ruled the game and how he has coped with the players. It could also be used to penalise players for foul and abbusive language retrospectively. Then after the players start to take notice of their dwindling bank balance and stop abbusing the ref then it could be used on T.V coverage like in Rugby.
