Well... Man United have bought the ref again!!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

STEVE BENNETT - WHAT A COMPLETE CRUNT!!!

IF ANYONE HAS SEEN HOW FAST HE HANDED OUT BOTH OF THOSE CARDS TO TORRES AND MASCHERANO, YOU'D AGREE.

THEY MAY OF SAID SOMETHING REALLY ABUSIVE BUT I SINCERLY DOUBT IT.

THE BODY ACTIONS OF BOTH FT9 AND MASCHER WERE HARMLESS.

---

THE GAME THAT WILL WIN THE LEAGUE FOR THEM IS BENT. WHAT A FUCKIN SURPRISE.

I THINK I CAN SAY OFFICIALLY THAT FOOTBALL IS CORRUPT AND AS BENT AS WRESTLING.

Anyone else see it?

It wasn't abusive language, just dissent.

Was great to see Andy Gray having a go at that camp voiced *word censored* Jamie Redknapp at half time.
Torres and Mascherano were booked simply for speaking to the referee, they weren't going mad.

Bennett, like most refs, is just scared to death of Ferguson.

Dissent= booking.

Wasn't the lack of booking players for dissent the problem this week? Ref's decide to clamp down after all the fuss, it happens.

It was hardly dissent tho. There was no shouting or swearing, simply two players questioning the ref.
Torres got kicked a few times, then got booked for daring to ask why.

Unless your the captain, are you allowed to question the ref? Can you actually know what they said? A polite enquiry would be harsh to book, anything more then that risks booking

Just seen the replay of both bookings. Perhaps Mascherano had been persistent in talking to Bennett through the game (I wasn't watching until right at the end), but the yellow cards for both Torres and then Mascherano looked very, very harsh. But Mascherano knew he was already on a yellow and should have known the risks he was running - the Liverpool player who was pulling him back certainly knew. Mascherano gave the referee the chance to give a second yellow, regardless of whether that would ruin the game in the process.

Bottom line, Bennett was a wanker and Mascherano was stupid.

We cant honestly be surprised by a refs performance in old shatford can we  Mascherano was stupid but torres was bang on and yet again we see manure players foul repeatidly without getting booked whereas the opposition gets nailed straight away.

Anyone noticed how gerrard was awol again in the big games  How these scouse fools rave about that *word censored* is beyond me

Arsene Wenger said this before today's match:

"I tell you something, I don't even know who is the ref on Sunday. I never care about the referee. But, of course, we have to respect them."

I bet Ferguson does his homework (ie contacts, phone numbers) though :x

bennett is a prick whether he is refing a united game or any other, after all the shit that happened midweek, the scouse tit should have known better, from the first foul he made on scholsey to the sending off he didn't stop mouthing off, as for torres, probably a bit harsh, but what did anyone expect, he obviously got a bollocking from midweek cos he was 4th official, at spurs, everyone would be watching the refs the following games especially todays games, only problem was he ended up making himself look even more of a prick, but don't start blaming united for it, but then i would be biased
