OMG Wenger to spend

Post by jamjc64 »

In quite a few papers today

Wenger steps up Arfa chase - Various

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is lining up a £17million bid for Lyon ace Hatem Ben Arfa. Would the French winger prove another piece of astute piece of business in the transfer market by the Gunners boss?

I'm not sure I would get too excited about us being linked to players - like 'flash gunner' we usually keep prospective signings quiet, although we were linked to Sagna a while before we signed him.

I've thought Ben Arfa would be a real good prospective target for a while now.

Young and French, fits the Wenger mould.

Always thought Lyon would put up a big fight to keep him though...don't get too excited yet.

Looks a good player. Attacking winger, just what we need! Agree with above posts though with the summer still 2 months away and it has been leaked???

That said apparently he is unhappy and has fallen out with the manager so maybe?

He plays mostly left wing I think but is pretty versatile. Would be good cover for the 36 games a season Rosicknote is injured for.

In case anyone hears Arsene declaring interest, he did nothing of the sort, journalist twisted what he said

YOU RIGHT ON THE GENERAL POINT MAGIC, BUT I HEARD A FRENCH JOURNALIST WHO IS CLOSE TO WENGER SAY LAST WEEK THAT ARSENAL HAVE DEFINATELY BEEN KEEPING AN EYE ON THE PLAYER FOR A WHILE. HOWEVER THE GUY SAID HE THINKS IT'S PROBABLY A SEASON OR TWO TOO EARLY AS THE PLAYER ISN'T QUITE AT OUR LEVEL YET.

Ben Arfa is a good prospect, but as Hlebby mentioned, he is not the finished article yet, he will need time as will Vela. And if indeed we are looking to buy a winger, id think right wing is more of a priorty since we have Vela for the left.
