It may be an April fool but it should be true. I hear you have to apply for a visa to get in to Russia and to get it in time you need to apply B4 the semi finals.

As much as this may be an April Fool there is remarkably a news article today about this very subject.
UEFA have warned that next years final may be moved away from Rome if there is violence at the Manure game tonight.

April Fool, but it should be moved to Wembley if two English clubs.

Very wrong to make fans pay all that cash for nothing.

Why shouldn't Moscow have a turn at hosting the Final? Western Europe doesn't have a monopoly on these things, or shouldn't do. Russians already see the Champions' League structured in a way that goes against them, since many of the CL games happen outside their regular season.

Ok Burnsy, you're wrong! Russia is not a continent (the only one-country continent is Australia). The Ural Mountains, which are inside Russia, mark the division between Europe and Asia. I think most Russians live west of the Urals and are therefore European. And Moscow is the biggest city in Europe by population (around 10million).

Anyway, in football terms, Russia is a UEFA member and so the whole of it is "European" for the purposes of football, as Turkey also is.

I think you will find out pretty quickly why Moscow should not have been given the CL final if we get there and you go, lads. The city is incredibly dangerous. The police are (mostly) corrupt and are known for stopping and robbing tourists on the street (imagine the fun they'll have with footy fans). The alcohol and drug gangs and Russian Mafia run the city.

Of equal concern is the fact that the hooligan problem in Moscow makes the Italians look calm by comparison. These are mostly blokes in there 20's and 30's pumped up on steroids and cheap vodka (with a bit of army training thrown in for good measure) and all they want to do is bust heads.

Also, if you thought Athens was badly run, the Russians will outdo the Greeks for ineptitude. It will be chaotic. Everyone will want a bribe.

I know this because my mate's dad worked there for four years restructuring their economy and infrastructure as part of an EU initiative and he hated every minute. He had to have an armed ex-KGB bodyguard with him everywhere he went. The local mafia threw a grenade into the bar of his hotel one night because the manager was late paying his protection; one person died two were badly injured.

The Russian media have kept most of this under the carpet so as not to risk the CL final being moved.

If we get there, I will go because I have to lay the ghost of Paris 06 to rest, but I will be very f*cking careful out there. It won't be anything like Paris was... :?

Should have been given to London. No stabbing, no drugs, no robbing. I've seen people with drugs, knives and robbing in London. But it must be my imagination.

Moscow is as dangerous as London 8)
