in my opinion diaby has to start next season as 1st choice in centre midfield in front of gilberto. i know people go on about how much we miss gilberto when he doesn't play, which 1 i'm not too sure about and 2 diaby can give us the same plus more.
the guy is vieira but better. we have to get him in there. i think also that wenger knows this(of course he would).
agree or disagree u may but for me
the future is diaby
DIABY
He does look good and seems to give us a more dynamic option in midfield. He'll certainly be knocking on the door. However I would have reservation of a Fabregas - Diaby centre midfield pairing as I think it leaves us open. Both are great players but both are better going forward. From what I've see of Diaby, he's certainly not afraid to put his foot in but I don't think he's naturally defensive. Replacing Gilberto with him could leave our back 4 very exposed.

Gilberto was superb at centre half against Reading, but awful against PSV! We'd need him as our midfield screen for at least another year.
I think we definitely need a centre back. Senderos has been shown up as not good enough which leaves just 3 - Gallas, Toure and Djourou. That's not enough in any circumstance given injuries and suspensions, plus Djourou is still young and inexperienced. Throw in Toure being at the African Nations early next year (He'll be away for a while as I expect Ivory Coast will go a long way) and we are desperate for a new centre back.
Gallas and Toure will surely be the regular number 1 pairing when fit so we need someone who is quality but prepard to wait them time and realise they will spend some time on the bench. Curtis Davies???
My big fear that Arsene won't see it that way as he'll stick with Senderos.
