Get a lump in my thoat for the Rocky one, also playing one of my favourite songs of all time on the Rocastle tribute,
the bergkamp one makes me proud to have seen such a great player in his prime and those absoultley magical moments.

This video should be Arsene’s rant
Strunz and Rosicky are so similar, they’ve even got the same name, Thomas

Insert the right names
Replace Mehmet, Mario Basler with Hleb, Eboue
Replace Trapattoni with Wenger
Replace Strunz with Rosicky
Replace Hamann, Nerlinger with Henry, Vieira

Liverpool v Arsenal in the league cup 1988/89.
A poor picture on this one but a good goal from Rocky and in the interests of balance not a bad one from Barnes either.
A perfectly good goal disallowed, in a tie we eventually lost. So dodgy decisions favouring Liverpool are nothing new.

Appearently during this season Euro champions AC Milan were interested in two English players - John Barnes and David Rocastle.RNTGOONER wrote:Henry and Bergkamp up front, how long do you think it will be till we have a line up like that agian...
Loved the Rocky Rocastle vid, being a relatively young gooner, I did not know how good he was. he looked top draw.
This year was his zenith though - he never recaptured it, though a brief rebirth in 1991/2.
I done another YouTube clips thread that had plenty of stuff from the late 80s, but seems to have gone AWOL.

This one is vs Norwich in 1987 - where Rocky played a blinder.

He was THAT good my friend. Injuries took him away from Arsenal. He is in most people's greatest Arsenal teams I think (he's certainly in mine). Try and get hold of the video "Rocastle: The Rocky Road to Success" and you can see more of the same and what a wonderful man he was too.RNTGOONER wrote:Henry and Bergkamp up front, how long do you think it will be till we have a line up like that agian...

Is Rocky Road still about? Can it be bought today. I never got it back in the day. Back in the day I was about 11 and could only get videos for birthdays and xmas rather than buy my own. I chose the end of season vids and historic vids like the '71 double and 101 Great Goals.Try and get hold of the video "Rocastle: The Rocky Road to Success" and you can see more of the same and what a wonderful man he was too.
There's a good interview with him on the 1990/91 season vid where he expresses his disappointment at so few games and injuries. If I knew how to upload on YouTube I'd put that one up.
