As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I hope he has as much luck with Hleb!
Classic comeback dvbrisgooner1 - couldnt put it better myself
If wenger succeeds in keeping hleb we'll all have the prospect of seeing him and eboue manning the flanks next season so thats something for all you optimists to dream about
Hi all, I think you've hit the nail on the head. No matter how determined Arsene Wenger is, if Hleb wants to follow Flamini's example, he'll go too. I just wonder how many Arsenal players will be left by the beginning of next season. I'm so sick of this parade of players leaving at the end of every season.
Once a player decides he doesn't want to be part of our club then there's little Wenger can or should do! Otherwise it affects the team spirit and also drains the morale of the younger players - that's why Henry had to go and Viera before him etc. I remember when we lost Pires, Viera etc everyone said it was all over for us and now they are just a distant memory as Wenger has rebuilt the squad - time is a great healer guys and Arsene has some new plans brewing!!! Let's have faith and watch him build again.....
Since Flamini left there have been many comments regarding "which Flamini will Milan get" etc. It is much the same for Hleb. Towards the front end of the season he was superb. Great dribbling, passing and an end product to boot! As the season wore on he started to regress and by the end was a shadow of what we saw early doors. The same can be said of several players. Even Eboue was playing well in August/September , Fabregas faded, Gallas went mental, Ade dried up and Rosicky and RVP had their dressings changed
If Hleb can find that early season form and maintain it to some level then I would happily keep him. In honesty I think he is gone but I cannot say I am 100% glad about it, 80% yes, but not 100%.

not every1 will play well for the whole season.
and look where we finished, just 4 points away from the league title. and missed the cl semi by a whisker
Rumour has it that Hleb is actually buying out his contract for 3 million.
From his agent:
“Alexander is preparing to make one of the most important moves of his life. He is leaving Arsenal even though they want to offer him a new long-term contract and better conditions.
“Only time will tell if leaving is the right decision but there’s no way back now. Everything will be settled in the next two weeks.â€
Morning Panto. I don't think Wenger is the issue. Outside of Manchester he is widely recognised as the most innovative manager around. The problem is with a club that will not break its rigid pay structure. Really, if you think about it, if all clubs adopted that same policy then there would be no incentive for players to jump ship just for money. There would be no 'big four' and the whole premiership would be a more interesting contest.
