2 NEW SIGNINGS THIS WEEK ?

Post by REB »

everyone says nasri will be done on july 1st and according to young guns website wewill be signing werder bremens amaury bischoff :rebel_2:

Arsenal are in talks with German side Werder Bremen for their 21 year old versatile midfielder Amaury Bischoff, according to French website DNA.fr.

The Gunners contacted Bremen six months ago to ask about the highly rated Frenchman, but have since moved for his services. The player himself says a deal has been agreed, and he will travel to London tomorrow to undertake a medical examination before putting pen-to-paper.

Bischoff was interviewed about the move, and says is just waiting for the boss to return from the European Championships before completing the transfer.

“There are some details left to finalize, and then we wait for Arsene Wenger to return from Switzerland.â€

Vieira, Toure, Anelka, Petit, Clichy, Cesc were all unknowns to most Arsenal fans.

True, but none of the players mentioned above were 21 year old's, and still only managed 1 or 2 appearances in first team football...and that's for Werder Bremen, not a top top club like Barca or Milan.

If anything, the possible signing of Amaury Bischoff is more reminiscent of our signing of Alberto Mendez, who if memory serves, came from the lower leagues of german football.

Anelka Clichy where both younger than 21 I'm not 100% sure but I think Vieira was 21 and Toure maybe 20??? someone will correct me if I'm wrong, Werder bremen aint as bad as some make out, I think the Bundesliga is grossly underrated as a league

Vieira, Toure, Anelka, Clichy, Cesc.

Save Vieira none of those guys went straight into the first team either did they? Anelka Toure Cesc spent about 2 seasons in the reserves and carling cup team. Clichy even more, something like 3 or 4 seasons. Bischoff himself has said in tonights London Paper he expects to go straight into the reserves. We need a player for right now to go straight into the first XI and pick up where Flamini left off. And based on the collective displays of Gilberto, Denilson, Diaby and Song last season, none of them is up to the task. So neither is Bischoff, we'd be better off signing Eric Bischoff as Edleman's replacement.

Vieira was 20 went straight into first team, Anelka was 17 went into first team at end of second season, Toure went straight into first team was 20 though not at a settled position for 18 months, Cesc was 16 went into Carling team and then first team season after.

My point is we do sign unknowns and it has worked out.

Bischoff says himself that he will spend a few months in reserves workign on his fitness.

Anyway, we have not signed officially Bischoff yet, or Nasri for that matter!

If he is 21 shouldn't he still be eligible for the Portugal U21 team? He hasn't played for them this campaign, I'm hoping that is down to his age

Doesn't work like that Magic.

There is a cut off date and as long as your arew under 21 then you can continue for the season.

Don't think he played though last year as he was on the treatment table most of it.............perfect for us!
