Why doesn't he just shut up?
Hleb's at it again - spouting off to the press. This time its politics at Arsenal

I hated hleb as a player and wanted him gone long ago but I applaud him when he makes statements like that just as I applauded henry last summer for doing something similar. There is way too much crap going on with our club at the moment that people are basically ignoring and hoping it goes away - we shouldnt boo ade, we shouldnt publicly protest against the way the club is being run etc etc etc
If this club was in italy the plush merc's (or whatever cars they drive) of phw and fizsman would be burnt out somewhere the club training ground (if our board members even know where it is

Applaud him for what?
He mentioned political differences and didn't elaborate too much, so what exactly has he said that could possibly shake up Arsenal for the better.
Just excuses for fucking off Arsenal for the money after benefitting from Wenger's three years of patience where for much of that he was the dictionary definition of mediocre.
Just fuck off and keep your trap shut Alex.

I usually think most of your negative points about Arsenals management are fairly justified but in this case i beg to differ . From what i gather from Hlebs comments it just seems that he is saying that he should have been paid more . Frankly i dont think he deserves a penny more than he was getting considering his contribution .augie wrote:I hated hleb as a player and wanted him gone long ago but I applaud him when he makes statements like that just as I applauded henry last summer for doing something similar. Players like Fabregas , Clichy , Sagna ( and Flamini ) who were spectacular for us , i would agree we should loosen the purse strings and compensate them accordingly , but Hleb i think not .

Read what he said properly - "when wenger leaves it will be a difficult time for the club.Sometimes I think Arsenal do not want to keep this team, not give something more".
To me reading that I see hleb talking about the fact that the people running the club are happy to sit back and watch this team disentegrate(like the team invinceables before) rather than make efforts to keep players and bring in players. Thats my reading of it anyway

Of course had the invincibles not disintegrated Hleb wouldn't have got anywhere near Highbury.augie wrote:Cus Geezer wrote:Applaud him for what?

Had they made the effort to keep the far superior Pires or Reyes, they would never had signed Hleb. Had they spent big name players on replacing those players and replacing Hleb after two ordinary years, Hleb would be signing for Portsmouth rather than Barcelona.
He doesn't mind benefiting from this transfer policy when it suits him, but than uses it as a stick to beat Arsenal with.
Like to see if Barca has the same patience with the frustrating Hleb as Arsenal did.

I agree with Cus and WengerKnows. Come on Augie - as if Hleb really cares about what will happen at Arsenal, now he's gone!!
I think you've used Hleb's comments to partake in your favourite hobby - having a bash at the Arsenal Board. Whilst I agree that they haven't always covered themselves in glory, at the same time they are not responsible for everything that's wrong in the world, as you seem to think.

Come November, when Arsenal usually have a rocky patch, I wonder how many fans will stand up and say "If we still had Hleb we would have won easily there"
Not too many I would think. He has been really lucky that his falling over skills have earned a big move to Barca, so he should just count his blessings and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I think most of us knew that as soon as Mourinho joined Inter, Hleb's Inter move would be off, and I think that says a lot about Hleb really. Mourinho like players who produce. Match winners; and Hleb is not, in any way, a Mourinho type player.green gooner wrote:Come November, when Arsenal usually have a rocky patch, I wonder how many fans will stand up and say "If we still had Hleb we would have won easily there"

It'll be interesting how the Barca fans take to Hleb. As people have said on here...what's Spanish for SHOOOOOT!!!!

I dont see it as a hobby at all IHH but more like a vocation or calling

Listen I agree 100% with all of ye that hleb was a waste of space that we are well shot of and I dont believe for 1 second that his mutterings in this interview had anything to do with his need for a destination with better ice cream. However I do, as you rightly say, blame the board for most of what is wrong with our club these days. For the last few weeks I have sit calmly while some of the more "stable" members on here have been panicing but with each passing day I am getting nearer to that state of panic. I cannot fathom how an intelligent man like wenger could avoid seeing the glaring weaknesses in some positions(keeper, centre back and enforcer in midfield) and yet we see no movement to rectify the situation. I think it would be fair to say that most on here would be amazed if by the end of august we have bought either a new keeper or centre back and that along with the fact that we are going to be stuck with adebaywhore is doing my fcuking head

When you cant understand it and I cant understand it and thousands more Gooners like us cant understand then naturally you start to look at reasons why this is happening
It doesnt take long (for me anyway) to start looking at the finances and the board issue and decide that if wenger is as astute as we believe him to be then he must have his hands tied way behind his back and maybe that old transfer profit story might have some legs to it after all

if we needed proof he doesnt care about arsenal:
Hleb also said it would be 'fantastic' if he were joined at Barcelona by Cesc Fabregas and the reportedly unsettled Emmanuel Adebayor, while he also questioned Arsenal's policy over sales.
"These are fantastic players, Adebayor and Cesc," Hleb continued. "Every team would like to keep these players. For me it would be fantastic if they came to Barcelona.
"Those players would bring good energy and power to this club. For Barcelona, it would be fantastic, and for me personally as well, if they leave.
He added: "Sometimes I think that Arsenal do not want to keep this team, not give something more."
