Best Pub for pre match Drinks?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Best Pub for pre match Drinks?

Post by hamertime »

The main criteria in my point of view is obviously location to the ground, atmosphere and how easy it is to get a pint.

Normally I go to the Duchess Of Kent on Liverpool Road just as its the closest pub to me and relitively easy to get a pint, but getting a bit bored of that one now, it is a good summer pub though.

I'm luckily enough to live v.close to The Emirates so was wondering what peoples opinions were.

Twelve pins or Auld triangle for me. Occasionally the Gunners but it is a bit out of the way since we moved.

Arsenal Tavern on Blackstock road is pretty good if you dont mind the walk, obviously the Rocket is also a forum favourite if you can class it as a pub?

No question THE COMPTON ARMS just off Upper St.

Country style pub discerning Gooners ,great lager and great foo (plus patio area to rear.

Nothing else touches it.

I've let this one pass as it's a while now since this appeared. I'm getting mellow in my old age

Yeah sorry, I realised there were already a few posts on this but thought I'd try and get a more current update seeing as pubs in London can go down hill very quickly.

Step – I’m glad you mentioned ‘The Compton Arms’ as thats a pub I’ve been meaning to try for literally a year but I keep forgetting too. I’ll definitely give that one a go early on this season.

Cesc is God – ‘The White Swan’ is a good suggestion but I think I would probably rather sit on a bench and drink a can of Super Tennants.
