Southgate targets Young replacement
Southgate targets Young replacement
It's understood Middlesbrough are set to make a move for Arsenal defender Justin Hoyte, as they seek a replacement for Luke Young.
England international Young is poised to join Aston Villa after the two clubs agreed an initial fee of £4million, leaving Gareth Southgate searching for a new defender before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Boro boss is believed to be targeting Gunners ace Hoyte, who has struggled to earn a regular starting birth with Arsenal - making just 15 appearances in all competitions last season.
The 24-year-old, a former England Under-21 international, is likely to be allowed to leave the Emirates with both Bakari Sagna and Emmanuel Eboue ahead of him in the pecking order.
Hoyte could be heading back to the North East, having already had a season-long loan spell at Sunderland during the 2005-06 campaign.

He just politely enquired whether Mr Southgate would mind leaving the vacinity in the style of a person fornicating...flash gunner wrote:Does anyone here speak fluent Stear? Hoyte seems to be third in the right back pecking order behind Sagna and Eboue, maybe even fourth if you think Kolo Toure covered there last season.
I would give Hoyte another season though, he has pace and can tackle..it is his positioning that needs working on, but I imagine that is hard for a player who does not play regular first team games.

That just about sums it up just not good enough if he is behind that crunt Eboue in the pecking order you have to think of your future.REBEL GOONER wrote:let him go, he deserves first team football, never let the side down and never said a bad word about us, just not good enough thats all
