What exactly is the reason behind the injury woes? (14/8)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

What exactly is the reason behind the injury woes? (14/8)

usual thread starter… I think this is why Neal Reynolds was headhunted from Norwich City. Successful diagnosis of injuries and correct treatment to ensure as quick a return to fitness as possible. Has he left already?

Things are certainly getting ridiculous, although as I’ve suggested elsewhere, I am far from convinced that Cesc and Kolo are actually injured. Bit of a risk on Wenger’s part, but he got away with it last night.

I have posted about this before, but if you have read Robert Pires' book, then you will know that we have a very good team of rehabilative Osteopaths who work with the players.

We also have a superb strength/conditioning coach in Tony Colbert who has reduced injuries through better core strength training.

Where I think things go a bit wrong is that we rush players back too soon from injury to first team level.

It is only a hunch, but I think with a bigger squad we would not need to do this, but Wenger sometimes feels an 80% fit Cesc is better than his other options.

Yet for last night, a game that Wenger might have felt he could win without Cesc, he gambled...as Gooner.Ed suggests.

From how Cesc and Toure they played pre season, Gooner.Ed has a point. Arsene must know they are not match fit and wants to give them time to get up to speed, and to get some more fitness groundwork in as preparation for a long season.

I agree with the author. I'm unsure about ed's conspiracy theory. A handful of tame friendlies and half the first team squad is injured. We haven't even started to face the thugs from Bolton, Blackburn, Everton etc. Most bizarre may be that Eduardo, with a ?career-ending multiple break may return to action before Rosicky with his hamstring problem? RVP looks fit now but what happened last season. I think Wenger should rotate the squad to prevent a recurrence of last season's injury problems - but it may be too late already! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
