Adebayor - he needs to feel wanted

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Adebayor - he needs to feel wanted

Wenger - It is time to get behind Adebayor
By Richard Clarke

Arsène Wenger has asked Arsenal fans to show their support for striker Emmanuel Adebayor.

It was announced on Monday that the Togolese frontman had committed his future to the Club by putting pen to paper on a new long-term deal.

The news ended a summer of speculation in which the 24-year-old was linked with a move away from Emirates Stadium.

But, speaking before the official announcement, Wenger said that newspaper reports over the summer did not reflect the striker’s “deep desireâ€

Tin hats on motherfuckers!!

I say we get behind him. There, I've said (written) it!

My reasoning is; we are stuck with the mercenary bastardhole so we have to get as much out of him as we can. We need him to hit form again and score his usual 1 goal in 53 chances  .

So let's not kiss his rich arse, but let's not boo the wanker either. Put the club ahead of our personal feelings, I say. 8)

He's still a prick though.

He stirred up a hornets nest over the summer. Not just once but repeatedly. And now he's wound up getting stung !

Hmmmmmmmmmm............................. :hmmthink: ...............it's difficult to feel too much sympathy, not least because I reckon he'll try something similar next summer whatever we do in the meantime.

I certainly won't/don't boo him. But the idea that I'd go and buy a shirt and get his name stuck on the back is equally a non-starter.

I do not like the guy because of his morals and the obvious bullshit " I forgot my mobile" excuses where the icing on the cake.

My stance is that I am treating him as I did during his first season, he had everything to prove!

Basically all his good work last season was undone by the antics of the summer.

I want Ade to beat the offside trap.
Worst thing is, it doesnt even take an offside trap to catch him offside. If anything Adebayor is the opposition's offside trap. Kind of ironic how he wants to get the fans onside but cant do the same himself!

I feel the same as most. He really let us down in the summer after all we did for him last season with the new chant and that.

Like galasso said he needs to learn the offside trap and really prove he can win us back over becuase the display at the weekend was poor im afraid.

Also...did i hear boos after that dreadfull attemp to take that west brom player on????

How is there still time to sell him when hes just signed a massive extention to his contract??? And villa has already claimed hes staying put.... What about louis saha???

On a serious note. I would imagien a lot of you were at the cottage last season???? will ade get a reception like that again this season, will our fans forgive? My opinion is although they arnt playing lets really hit the cottage with:

Oh Vela Vela
Our mexican superstar
Hes better than cantona
Ohh vela vela

and the fantastic EDDIE song. Anyone agree?

Agree, dont sing his name just cheer when he scores. Its our hard earned cash that pays his ridiculous wages, i dont see him showing us WE are wanted.
Booing anyone wearing the Arsenal shirt is wrong but will not be forced to like him or love him, just to make him happy. I thought thats why he wanted his wages increased, to make him happy.
