usual thread starter… was denilson ever any good? Is this a case of emporer’s new clothes? Maybe we were blinded by him being brazilian. Interesting to see that he was not selected for the brazilian Olympic team despite – you’d think, being a contender due to his age and profile. Some of these lads we pick up as teenagers don’t always seem to work out.
Or maybe, having played in every pre-season game… wait for it… he’s suffering burn out!!!
Sorry but this midfield pairing doesn't work for me. ....our passing was awful and our strikers really couldn't hit a barn door.
This needs to be sorted and now.....no good waiting until Cesc returns either
No it's not the worst midifeld pairing. You gotta give Denilson time he's only 20. I know he was rubbish in that game but he's got talent he just raw as hell right now. As far as Eboue, that's all Wenger's fault because he's the only person in the world who thinks Eboue is a midfielder. HE'S A RIGHT BACK FOR FUCK'S SAKE. And he used to be a pretty decent one to. When Cesc comes back from his bullshit thigh problem or whatever the hell it is, and we sign our other midfielder Eboue will go back to being misused on the right.
i thought the days of hillier, morrow, selley were well gone till the fulham game,
denilson isnt good enough im sorry buts thats a fact and as for eboue wenger is digging his own grave with that excuse of a footballer
Denilson is at the stage, where if he were to play next to a Vieira he would be considered a good player. But he is not yet experienced enough or developed enough to impose on a game.
Eboue is a back up right back, filling in as a ball winning midfielder because we have no one else!
Denilson looks lost when cast as the senior midfielder as he was yesterday at Fulham. As for Eboue, I'm as puzzled as nearly everyone else - apart from one contributor who sees him as the next Roy Keane - as to why Wenger continues to pick him with Wilshere and Ramsey available. Arsene's love child? Maybe. Blinkered - definitely. 60,000 Gooners can't be wrong

We need ot buy.
I disagree. For me, he's not good enough, hasn't developed well enough and if he was playing alongside Vieira, his failings would be masked.

That is exactly my point Galasso...if he was playing next to a 2002 version of Vieira, Denilson would look a good player.
As it is he is a developing player, but I will not write him off yet.

I will write him off - I've never been convinced or will be convinced that he can be good enough to be a first choice player. He should be better by now. In the same way as I will never be convinced about Song playing in midfield.
They are terrible together in central midfield, it's true... but they've a long way to go before they can knock Ian Selley and David Hillier off the top of the 'Worst midfield partnership in Arsenal history' title
