FOR ALL THOSE WHO BOO OR JEER ADEBAYOR

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

FOR ALL THOSE WHO BOO OR JEER ADEBAYOR

Post by Mr FINSBURY PARK GOONER »

Whats the bloody point.......??

Yes I know, After the events of the summer i dont look at him same and have have lost a huge amount of respect......

But whats the point jeering, and booing him.

Greedy.....true, but he has just signed a long term contract (even though i expect him to leave before its over)

and more importantly he plays for ARSENAL...and wears an ARSENAL SHIRT.....

Its funny, cause last season at Fulham (craven C) we saw the start of the "adddeeeebayyoooorrrr adeeeeeeebayoorr, give him the ball" song.

And this season he was booed and jeered,

There was a momment when he looked at the Arsenal end for about 10 seconds after this....

I think he gets the point..........

Lets move on, and get behind the players before it really turns ugly.

Cause the fact is Theo and others have shown way less commitment and drive on the feild in our opening 3 games of the season

PS..I'M NOT A REAL ADEBAYOR FAN I JUST SUPPORT THE MIGHTY ARSENAL AND ALL PLAYERS THAT REPRESENT THE CLUB.

I'm with you my friend. Whatever happened, the point has been made. You don't need to like him. You don't need to sing his name anymore (I won't). But I sure as hell will not boo him. The same goes for Eboue, Gallas and anyone else who is letting us down right now.

I think most on here would agree with that.

I know many don't like the bloke, but to boo him during a match is not on...he's signed a new contract, so it's time to get behind him.

I jeer him because he deserves it. To fuck us around all summer long and then expect everyone to be 'pals' with him is ludicrous. I'm sorry if it hurts his feelings, but he doesn't want to be here, so I don't want him here either.

Wenger gave him an opportunity at AFC, and as soon as he had a successful season, he tried jumping ship to Barcelona / AC Milan, purely due to greed (and presumably, to boost his ego). His lack of loyalty is something that he should be pulled up on.

The guy is the lowest of the low as far as I'm concerned. The jeering will fade in time, but there's no way I'm actively cheering him again. Much like I didn't by 2004/05 when Vieira continued to fuck us around all summer long. At least in that situation, the fans and the 'club' actually wanted/needed him to stay. Nobody needs Adebayor, as was proven when nobody could be bothered to pay more than a tenner for him.

I agree with you, I would never boo Ade, but on the other hand I will never sing his song.

Yeah yeah...we know the reasons why. We know what he did.

Does that mean that booing him during matches is ok? I don't think so. Surely your desire for Arsenal to succeed is stronger than your desire to have a go - repeatedly - at Adebayor? if not, then what sort of fan does that make you? :?

agreed. im against boo'ing of players full stop, why knock off confidence on a player that plays for team you love? and i do believe it affects the whole team too, most probably in the changing rooms

I've never booed and Arsenal player in my life and never will. I have forgiven him, we must get behind him and the team. :barscarf:

I'm of the belief that it is an honour to play for Arsenal - and not the other way around (certainly in Adebayor's case). Ultimately, he is an arrogant bastard that is still relatively unproven over a period of time. In my opinion, his actions shouldn't be ignored, and he deserves abuse for treating the club this way.

I won't continue to jeer through the entire season, as it would be unproductive in the long run. But it was necessary at the Emirates Cup and the game against WBA, and hopefully the point has been made.

Very true MizzN. I think Adey has been a grade one bounder but whilst he's got the Arsenal shirt on I will not jeer. Same goes for Eboue too !

How was your chocolate cake by the way MizzN ? I hope you haven't eaten all of it
