Anfield 89

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Its probably been done before but having watched the game again that came with my membership, were any of the users in the forum there in 89? And if so can you see yourself in the celebrations?

One of lifes great fuck ups for me :? I was going to the original fixture at Anfield which was cancelled becasue the scouse were playing in the FA cup (I think) then when it was put back we decided not to bother :banghead: I was going to go to The Gunners to watch it with mates but after the 2-2 draw at home to Wimbledon and the realisation that we needed a miracle at Anfield I just sloped off home in a severe depression so eneded up watching it laying on the settee at home while drowning my sorrows  I can still remember my thoughts as Lukic threw the ball out to Dixon, that it was fuckin typical that we'd won at Anfield and I was still going to be miserable after and that as soon as the whistle went I was going to turn off the tv and go straight to bed. The rest, as they say, is history and ten seconds later I was smashing my fists against the ceiling as I jumped around like a maniac then when the game restarted I was kneeling in front of the tv pleading with the ref to blow the whistle :? It still brings a tear to my eye and raises the hairs on the back of my neck when I hear Brian Moore's famous commentary to this day. Think I was on cloud 9 for about three hours after the game then finally managed to get some sleep before getting up on the saturday morning and going up to Highbury/Islington to join in the celebrations that were still going on from the night before  :suffolk_chunky:  :dancingbanana: :drunk: Then up there again early on the sunday for the parade at the town hall. Weekends don't come any better and the sun shone the whole time 8)

did'nt get to anfield but saw the match on the box and then drove to Highbury and witnessed and got involved in the most amazing scenes ever. people carrying crates of booze handing them out. crowds singing and dancing out the main entrance. i remember two blokes got onto the canopy covering the entrance to the marble halls and giving it the we are not worthy bow.
