usual thread starter… I’m hardly surprised Nasri looks pretty confident in his own abilities as a footballer. The Marseille crowd don’t tend to give passengers much leeway.

Vela apparently has a tendency to disappear when the going gets tough according to someone who saw him play a lot when he was with Osasuna. So the jury’s out on the young Mexican, but great movement in his cameo yesterday. Similar age to Theo, but you can tell who can read his team-mates' intentions.

vela plays consistently like walcott does at his best.

great control, movement, energy, speed, intelligent and calm. theo needs to look at vela and try and emulate his consistency (so far) since every time vela has pulled on the shirt he has looked class and dangerous. walcott does too, but only sometimes and hopefully he can be more consistent.

Nasri has surprised me, as I did not rate him much in France. He has good confidence annd bal lcontrol and has a fighting spirit.
I think his talks with Vieira, Anelka, Diarra, Sgana etc before he signed told him what to expect f Arsenal and the Premier league.

Vela gets in good positions, has good control, he just needs to learn to pass when he wants to shoot, if there is a better placed player,.

Saturday versus Newcastle he shot when a pass would have been better.
