Alcohol

Post by Rocky Fan »

I love the stuff but still think that you never really know whats going to happen.
You can go 2 years drinking normally and then you have one night where you get it all wrong and act like a friggin Arse.
Even in my mid thirties I still frack up on the stuff from time to time.
Its funny you get people like Robbie Williams who drank heavily for one year and then complains he is a Alcoholic (not) then you get the sad way the Gazza has fallen.
Merson was back on the beers last year but seems to be OK. Thing is you can have a great night out on the booze but its always possible to make that mistake and dont remember where you were or what you did.

sometimes tahst whats good about alcohol but in moderation. i realised the other day ive had at least half a pint everyday for about 3 months. i havnt drank for 2 days and i feel more cheerful and its easier to get up. im not saying im an alcoholic like gazza...but when u get into the habit of getting home from worki relaxing and thinking ill have a beer...its easy to get carried away. health experts will disagree but a once a week binge is better than a glass of red everyday.

I like drinking on social occasions but I'm glad that I find the taste of it to be total shit. I've seen too many people I love become ultimately destroyed by alcohol.

I hope I never get to a stage where I drink it casually every day like a can of Coke or a glass of water.

I try not to drink in the week at all but will have several on a sat night although I must admit, recently I've been getting really bored of the whole cycle where you get through the working week (which for me, lasts til sat lunchtime) go out and get arseholed, wake up feeling like cack on sun, take the entire day to recover and then boom, its monday and it starts all over again... :banghead:

If health experts would disagree it is maybe because they know something!

I don't think you're statement can possibly be right.

i agree totally. I found that my body normally keeps the whole alcohol consumption in check. there are months where i'll drink daily sometimes getting drunk sometime just a pint or two, but then i wont touch it for weeks, not because i dont want to i just dont 'feel' like it. And i also sleep better, have more energy and when i'm fully feeling good, the cravings kick in again. :banghead:

Saving drinking for specific days is not a good idea, it forces you to 'make the most' of a session and you end up a lot more ratted than i had had coupole during the week.

The old adage is the best advice, drink responsibly, and know your limits and fcuk pier pressure

everything is bad for you if you take too much, nothing wrong with going for a few pints,
fucks sake up to 3-4 years ago no one knew what a binge drinker was, now you have 4 pints and your binge drinking

Never have more than 1 beer alone is my motto and definitely...never go out drinking on my own. As long as you're not haning around with wrong people that keeps the drinking under controll for me.

I have got to the stage where the fear of the hangover by far out weighs the beer buzz  Beer is great at the time but the next week it kills me, not just a day or two.

Plus in N Ireland we get raped by publicans over the price of alcohol. Where I live, a small, quiet market town, I paid 3 pounds 10 pence for a bottle of Corona on Sunday with my dinner

used to work with a guy that did that, then had to have his eye removed to clean an in fection he got behind from using a not so clean spoon. Had his eye put back in during the procedure, but still pretty scary stuff.

Exactly the same as me mate, it takes me days to recover and I thought I was the only one! My mate's can drink and drink and be absolutely fine the next day.. quite annoying.

It's about the same price here in London, if not more. But I guess that's to be expected in the capital

Snap. If I have a big session on the sat night, I'm still feeling the effects throughout the week. is it really worth it?!?!
