THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He fails to realise 2009 was 7 years ago, and everyone knew it was a time of limited expectations.
He has told a huge lie, its in his biography that during that 5 years 2004-09 the club said to him they needed to maintain league status, he promised them to stay in the top 4.
I don't think anyone expected us to win a title during that period, but its what has happened since the debt became manageable that's the issue.
Of course he will gloss over the past 6-7 years.
We now have £160m in the bank ffs.

The truth!

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/arsene- ... 57680.html
Real wanted instant success, Wenger wanted a long term plan to work with their youth team, and not spend on galacticos.
Just imagine they could be scrapping for 4th spot now, and have £160m in the bank if they had played their cards right,

Said it a trillion times but I feel the end is near. Hope he gets it tight tomorrow.

If this lunatic is Arsenal manager next season then I will have accepted the fact that he really is untouchable.

To quote Rodders HOUND HIM OUT!

Do you want me to tell you how many clubs I turned down during that period?

The words from that article make me want to smash his face in.

"I want to have success by building a team with a style, with a know-how, with a culture of play specific to the club and its fans and with young people. That is what I have chosen in my career and want to ensure I continue here at Arsenal.

"I am in a construction project with a young team but my intention is to take that project to the ultimate end. For me, pleasure comes from watching those players showing the football I like to see played.
[/b]

It's all about him, what he wants, what he has chosen.

Long standing fans are just expected to go along with that but for what reason? The personal whims of one man who isn't really a football man in the classic sense at all. He is actually a fucking weirdo if we are honest.

We've known for years, Wenger has used Arsenal FC as his pet project but when you see him talk like that it is sickening. Especially when years later he excuses his failure by blatanly lying when claiming he was forced to sell his best players.

Who was he forced to sell? Fabregas chose to go ... as did Hleb, Nasri, Adebayor, Sagna and RvP

What a despicable fraud Wenger is.

And how many of said clubs would tolerate years of mediocrity, excuse after excuse and CL results Wenger style ........all for a bargain 8 million a year? Sure Real Madrid fans would appreciate the likes of Sanogo starting against Bayern or Denilson wheezing as he tried to track back for a lardy Santos. Always was going to be a verbal stick to beat us with i.e look what I sacrificed to stay here.

I'd love to have seen Wenger try and impose Eboue, Diaby, Denilson, Bendtner et. al on Real Madrid. Watching Ronaldo lose the plot at all those players would have been hilarious.

The fact is, Arsenal is the only club that would have given him the grace to attempt his wacky plans and test out his crackpot theories. So for him to turn on the fans shows how deluded and dictatorial he actually is. The fans loyally stood by him, through all his decade of excuses, half-truths and evasions. Now that the fans have finally woken up and smelt the coffee and realised that there will be no golden era of "domination" (a word that Wenger laughably used during the summer of '08 when we were about to lose half our team  ) , he can't handle it.

He literally expects blind obedience from the fans.

He reminds me of a politician under distress, who makes all these outlandish claims of conspiracy and then reads of a list of his 'achievements' in an vain effort to convince anyone willing to listen he is doing a good job.

His ego knows no bounds, once more he is saying the Emirates wouldn't have been possible in effect without his mere presence.

I wish he had gone to Real Madrid, and been sacked by mid season a la Rafa. It makes you wonder why Real ever would have wanted Wenger, it's a huge mis match in terms of club and manager combination!

The more he says things like this, the bigger the hole he digs for himself and we can only hope it truly is the beginning of the end.

But you wouldn't have the Emirates if it wasn't for him, you ungrateful swines!

At least the BBC are on to it as well and even reporting the protesting

Remain are running a campaign based purely on fear of change , ie if we leave things could well get worse

Leave are saying ok we recognise if we change things may be a little uncertain initially, but by making the leap of faith we will be much stronger and better off in the long run.

Vote WEXIT - you know it makes sense!
Got my vote, good analogy, better than Trump one for sure
