As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm sure a lot of fans of most clubs would be very much in favour of safe standing areas even if ticket prices remain the same - for a lot of fans, sitting down makes them feel restrained and has a very detrimental affect on atmosphere, so at least standing up might lift those things somewhat. I for one would love to see safe standing area's behind the goals but not just in a small area by the corner flag
Certain blocks at the Emirates have always been unofficially standing. As long as you are not blocking the aisles the steward are quite content to stand at the back, watch the game and let you stand. Been like that for years. Most of the away games I've been to have also been standing so I'm not really sure if we do actually need official safe standing crush barriers when it has worked well without them for years.
I think it would be better mate as it doesn't work out for the people who don't want to stand when seats are available, or can't stand for so long, or who's view is impaired.
The choice would then be a better thing for those people and people who want to stand and probably create more of the atmosphere get cheaper tickets.
It can't make things worse. The start of the all-seater era killed attendances in Scotland. I heard that Celtic's attendances have plummeted during their last few walkover seasons with Rangers down the leagues. Even Rangers' attendances dipped when they realized that McCoist was a fraud.
It's disappointing how much power the Old Firm hold over Scottish football. They hoover up supporters like they hoover up any promising players (Same deal in Spain and Germany to an extent). With Rangers down the leagues they had a great chance to reform the leagues and have a fairer split of prize money, when Aberdeen (I think) voted to keep the status quo for purely selfish reasons.
For anyone who gives a fuck, I think it's mental that they don't have a non-league pyramid system, although they are starting to join it up. Junior football is entirely disconnected from the SFL.
If it wasn't for all the political and religious shit, Scottish football would be a good advert for the 'old school' supporter experience. No fucking lattes, iPads and Tarquins at Pittodrie on a wet Tuesday night (or any night).
