City, United and Chelsea were poor last year yet we still managed to finish way behind Leicester despite beating them twice. If we are still in the hunt by April I might start to believe but we have been let down too many times to get excited about the teams chances. One game at a time...
Agreed mate I've supported the club long enough to know we shouldn't get carried away. Would be fun for DB10 to honour my bet request though :).

Think you are being optimistic of getting odds at 6-1, looked like it was just a straight bet...like for like
Well offering evens is ridiculous, if you are that confident that we aren't going to win the league at least offer a fair bet. 6-1 is reasonable given Arsenals track record in the prem over the last 12 seasons, and the resurgence of Manure, Pool, City and Chelski this season.

I have a mate who took a bet at 9-1 from another mate, that Donald Trump would win the US Presidential election. This was quite a few months ago before this slew of allegations came out about Trump and various women. When you make a statement you should be prepared to back it up at fair value rather than try to offer rip off odds. At those odds it was a perfectly acceptable bet, in fact it was good value for the geezer that took 9-1 regardless of the outcome.

That's what the bookies do, and even they wouldn't offer evens so why should I take DB10's bet offer at evens?

It really is frightening how it can control people.

I was shocked to find out an old school friend went to jail as he ended up stealing over £100,000 from his firm to pay for gambling & drug habit ( I assume cocaine)
He was a lovely guy when I knew him - would never have had him down for doing time / stealing .

Get him to Gambler's Anonymous ASAP mate...Seriously. Once saw someone gamble their 12 year business away in 6 weeks....Tried to tell him but there was no reasoning with him, it was always 'the next bet is gonna sort it'...lost his business, then the car/s, then the house, then the marriage went.

If DB10 furnishes my request @6/1 I will then lay the bet off with Betfair for exactly the opposite outcome ie Arsenal not to win the league, and still come out with a profit regardless of whether the bet with DB10 or the lay bet with Betfair comes off. Now that sir isn't gambling.

We've been here many times before only for it to end badly.
Reserving judgement at the moment and just enjoying The Arsenal winning.
Exactly. Every season we hit a purple patch and then when it matters Wenger fucks it up. I'm just enjoying a few wins, some good goals and a few decent bits of football without Ramsey choking the life out of it with flicks, backheels and dawdling on the ball...
Well, today put an end to my initial statement. We used to put 4 past boro on a regular basis.

Once again because of Wenger we will not win the league. We have no natural striker and that's the downfall.

How can his disciples not see this!

it will come back to haunt him....No quality Striker signed...we all know Sanchez is top quality.....but better suited out wide...

Left us short again for a real chance of the Title......Wallcott scored a few goals but that will not last....he is a confidence player and easily loses his way

Wenger has no idea regarding team preparation or tactics.....

You would think when Middlesborough pulled out Downing and put in an extra midfielder prior to the start, that was a sign of intent

What does Wenger do to counter tactics....Yes you got it FUCK ALL

Agree with the above post, we have been here too often before to get excited about a run of results.
With the exception of Chelsea was there a game we shouldn't be winning anyway?
The Wenger apologists are becoming as tiresome and predictable as their Spuds counterparts with their " this is our year" delusions.. Yesterday on Twitter they bemoaned the loss of Carzola while praising the boss for rotation.. What rotation? Anyway yesterday wasn't the day for rotation Wednesday was..
Anyway Happy Birthday Arsene, yesterday was a fitting result for you , indicative of what you have done to the club..

I think it has reached the point where we Gooners have fallen so deeply into some kind of spirit numbing coma under the weight of all the groundhog years that now appear to be blurring into one long grey nonsensical mind numbing, hope killing. life draining drawn out endless confusing cycle.

So when one of the re-curring events within that dark non-ending cycle comes around (yet) again - ie: Arsenal playing at home and failing to dispatch a team we really should because the manager is repeating his usual ineptness by not rotating the team, nor applying tactics and common sense, whilst having the audacity to continue to hide behind the usual inane over-used excuses that are not really true..that we the fans seem surprised that the (now) 12 year cycle of ineptitude and fucking-up picks up where it left off this time last season.

Every season for some (me included) that tiny spark of hope manages to get through that grey blur of despair that is now the norm for many Gooners.

Today, prior to the $hitty v Saints game Arsenal somehow are Top of the Prem......sadly there are those who think 'this is the year', things will be different this season.

But yesterday was a HUGE pointer to what we all know what will now follow...getting dumped out of the CL - Flattering to deceive - till first one wheel comes of the delusional Arsene wagon, then the next, then the next till the engine falls out of the bottom..... Sadly in the midst of all this awfulness the useless cun.t will be offered a new contract on extortionate wages and of course Wenger being the honourable man that he isn't will sign on the dotted line.
