I've always believed that if we dont qualify for CL they will simply spend even less than we currently do !
You must see that is contradictory, if we get a CL spot there is literally no chance Wenger will go.
Even if we got relegated, (which a lot of posters on here would apparently love to see) he'd still get a new contract to get us back up, stability etc...
Which posters want to see us relegated??
All I know is that top 4 means a definite contract, if we miss out on top 4 there is a minute chance that he may be gone.

I don't see it as contradictory because my thoughts and feelings influence nothing to Arsenal PLC but i do realise what the consequences are of another Wenger 4th place .

And there it is...everything that is wrong with our fanbase. Finish above Liverpool means Top 4 and we all know what that means...... That's the problem with the modern Arsenal fan...they want to beat everybody, yet they want Wenger to go...Well they kinda do, if he gets Top 4, he can stay, he deserves another shot, after all is 20 years really enough time???
What is wrong with you????
Stating I'd love it if we could finish above Liverpool has nothing to do wenger staying or going, or top 4 as they could still finish 6th and finishing 5th above them would be a joy, given that the spurs will finally finish above us. We all know you're a Liverpool supporter as you always throw your wenger fanbase shite dummy out the pram every time a poster wants Arsenal to win or finish above a certain club, especially Liverpool. I always enjoy finishing above Liverpool and spurs more than any other clubs. Nothing to do with wenger.
Fucking grow up...if you weren't so laughable I would actually respond.

Nick, he's an AKB from way back, unlike others on here who get pelters and try defend their corner, he never admits to it, he cloaks it in a load of BS. Like, for instance he goes on the attack and calls me a Liverpool supporter because I don't want us to finish above them this season.

For the last time & to be absolutely clear. I do not want us to qualify for the CL because A) Wenger will get all the credit and it strengthens his position B) We are not good enough to be in it UNDER Wenger. And the yearly thrashings are humiliating..... I do not care where we finish under Wenger as long as we do not get relegated.

I am getting sick of this top 4 crap, Chelsea finished outside the top 4 twice in the last decade or so, first time they won the CL in the same season and this season after missing out last time they are going on to win the PL again.

All this bs about we can't attract players is just that bs, players are mostly mercs and will come anyway if you pay top dollar, we probably won't do that because of our scummy owner but I don't want to hear f**king excuses already for this, if we accept mediocrity that is what we get.

It’s always difficult to want the team to lose (or even draw) games and in the last few years despite wanting Wenger gone for about 5 of them I have felt good about some of our sneaking into 4th place on the last day, that’s natural, but as most say it will almost definitely mean that he signs a new contract even more so than a win in the cup final. It will feel slightly disappointing come August when the draw is made and we’re not at the top table but the worst thing for me is the Thurdsay/Sunday combination of games for most of the season, but I will take it if it means a new manager this year or even next

Exactly right, a little bit of sucking it up & enduring, than another decade of doing it!!

Chelsea have had terrific seasons out of the CL. Even the year they were holders, they got blown out in the group stage and went on to win the Europa.

Tbh I wish we would finish in 7th...concentrate on the domestic cups. Hell even the league cup which he treats with such disdain.

Can't see anything other then a win here, they are a decent side but have their moments, don't think they'll be as up for it as Stoke and they are always up for it against Liverpool because they are often raped for their players.

That 4 nil last year was masterminded my Koeman, think Puel will go easy on his old mate.

I believe that is a response. Not everything I want to see the club achieve is a reflection of my feelings on Wenger. If you can't understand that then there really is no hope for you.

As long as Wenger remains at the Club, there's no hope for any of us mate. I was reading a similar debate on the Utd match thread yesterday, about being able to enjoy the victory, but wanting Wenger out. Personally, I don't enjoy victories anymore, because any minor positive, no matter how ultimately insignificant, shores up Il Duce. As we well know, a run of 6 catastrophic results, can be off-set by Wenger, his adoring acolytes and the board, by a single win against anyone, even non-leaguers like Sutton and Lincoln. Likewise, 8-2, or 10-2 defeats, can be dismissed as "accidents", then conveniently glossed over and forgotten.

Wanting to finish above Liverpool or anyone else, or wanting top 4, while wanting the Fraud gone is counter-intuitive. It has to get worse to get better. I and others on here, have said that we'd accept anything other than relegation, if it meant getting rid of Wenger, so I'm only bothered about finishing above Liverpool if they were 18th and we were 17th. I also don't buy this notion that it makes no difference to whether he stays or not. Of course it does. Maybe not this year, maybe not next year, but consistent inexcusable failure (comfortably out of the top 4, behind all our perceived rivals etc), must eventually see him gone. There must be 20% of the seats empty while we're 6th, imagine what it will be like after 2 years of 6th, 7th, 8th or worse. No one said that getting shot of him would be quick or easy, but pressure from us and a continuing on-field decline will eventually do the trick. In short, wanting him gone, but wanting even some on-field success, is incompatible.

Nos, I hope your attack on Xisstential was an unconsidered reaction to his criticism of your view. You have every right to hold and defend an opinion, but you're out of line in the crass accusation that he's a Liverpool supporter, or in any way anti Arsenal. Take it from me, we all owe this man immese gratitude for the time, effort and personal financial contribution he has and is making to these protests. I know for a fact, that no one has done more. He's as red and white as any of us and I don't mean Liverpool red and white.

Now let's all make up and be friends again. 8)

I've thought from early in the season, that the last managerial change at Southampton, will be one change too many for them - they have been on an upward curve for a few years now due to an impressive youth structure, and an astute policy when recruiting new managers, and tbh I don't think puel was a good selection (and that isn't because wenker recommended him either). There seems to be some discontent down there this season, and puel doesn't seem to have the total support/backing of either the players or the fans

Tbh I am expecting a comfortable victory in this game - dunno if gabbiadini is player (a proper old fashioned goal poacher imo 8) ), but van dijk is out and their defence is shit

Well said, Retro 8)

Guys, please. We have to accept that we have different opinions on whether wins and/or winning the VT are 'good' for the short/long-term on our club - As fucking ridiculous as that sounds. The manager's serial underachievement for the past decade has led to this totally absurd situation at our club. Please try to not let this flare up; we're all Arsenal here, lads.
