We have plumbed the depths in recent years, but I think we are a new low.

How can Ox's contract not have been sorted a year ago, either way?

How can the sale of Sanchez be left so late when everyone knows he is going? No business would ever chuck away £70m odd, which is what we would lose in June next year. He's going.

Wenger has lost it, but we have known that for some years. You can't blame him for clinging to the wreckage, it is human nature.

The fault lies not with Wenger but the Board. Gazidis cannot be completely stupid - he runs a billion pound business. I think Kroenke has told him that Wenger is going nowhere and if Gazidis doesn't like it and put on a happy face about it all then he can FO. Therefore, I can only believe there is a plan is place in terms of agreed deals prior to the deadline. We would not sell Ox and Sanchez unless there were replacements. It just could not happen.

The Wenger situation is more complex. Kroenke effectively owns the club, and he can appoint whoever he wants to do whatever he wants. He doesn't live in this country and so probably doesn't give a FF about it all.
The next two days are pivotal. If the right players come in, whoever is managing the team is less important
. Wenger should have gone long ago, we all know that, but as long as Kroenke wants him there, he will probably stay.

My philosophy in life is you address the reality, and not focus on trying to change things that are very much outside our control . Maybe Wenger will fall on his sword, but that's probably the only way it's going to happen. He certainly knows what people think.

And, if it is going to happen, then this maybe is the time it's going to.
Really?..Whoever comes in will be bought trained and told where and how to play by the same man who has proved for years he is not up to the job.....i dont care who we sign because if you believe signings will make a difference you are naive ...Kroenke is a cancer at our club but wenger is stealing a living and is now so clearly out of his depth he should not be trusted to sign anyone

Apart from Campbell which of his defensive signings have been a success ?

Or even forwards (Henry only one)

Or even midfielders

that's a bit harsh, wenger has brought in some amazing players in all positions, defensively id agree its been a shambles on the recruitment front but regards forwards there was Anelka, Wiltord ,Alexis in midfield we had Pires,Ljunberg, overmars, petit, veira, cesc, the list goes on,funny thing is those names I mentioned all wanted out eventually or wenger fucked them over especially Pires, that still grates the fuck out of me,notice that all those names are from our highbury days though apart from cesc and Alexis

Kolo Toure, Cole, Sagna, Lauren all had varying degrees of success. At his peak nothing got past Sagna and Lauren was a dirty muthafucker. I think it's quite clear we bought good players who were poorly coached and grossly mismanaged.

Robin was the most naturally gifted footballer we've very had tbh. Late equaliser against Everton around 2009. The 12pins was rocking like never before.

And Alexis aside, who cost us £35M which then would be like £75M now!, those names are from over a decade ago, also mostly French from when he got the best they had to offer instead of 2nd raters.

Also I think DD had a lot to do with the Campbell signing, as much as Wenger.

Yet it took some of our fans 10 years to notice Wenger had lost it?!. :banghead:

I'd agree that his signings of the last few years have been fairly cack, but as you mention Henry and Campbell as his only good signings, I'm assuming you're going as far back as when Wenger joined the club.... if so, Pires and Vieira should hunt you down and give you the bitch slapping you clearly deserve! :box:

When he signed Viera and Petit first saw them play they were absolute quality from day one, i thought Wenger was a genius......

He was at that time, relative to other coaching/systems at that time, there were also rumours was it Damien Comolli (?) who made most of the signings or at least recommended them to Wenger, before he lost the plot and became useless like Wenger, I don't think Wenger has developed himself or many of the core systems within the club since that time (20 years!!).

I thought Bendtner on the wing would possibly be his worst tactical decision ever.......and then along came this year's vintage with 2 left backs playing at centre half, and a right winger playing at left back......GENIUS !

I strongly dislike Wenger and he can't leave soon enough for me.
