Re: The January "He Looks Quite Good" Transfer Thread
Going to be 29 in June. Another one near the twilight of his career, one decent deal/contract then what? Plus the discipline problems! Add to that Wengers moulding and manipulation. Fuck that!!

If he did come just imagine what it'll do to Lacazette's confidence,he couldn't score in a brothel with a grand in his pocket at the minute and I'm still not convinced he will come good anywayNickF wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 12:07 pmAubameyang averages almost a goal a game for the past three seasons not sure why that would be "an air of desperation about it" and a "PR exercise". Having said that, I struggle with why he would want to join us when presumably he could go anywhere he wants.sk-gtfo wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 12:19 amThe thing is, if it's true, signing Aubameyang has an air of desperation about it, I mean in addition to Sanchez and Ozil fine, but as a replacement for Sanchez?, I'm not sure he's quite as good and even if he is we still go backwards because we've strengthened either City or United by allowing Sanchez to go.
I don't want us to sign Aubameyang as some sort of PR exercise.

So Utd are favs to sign Sanchez now. We will find out a lot about Alexis over the next few days, he's 29 now so his next move is crucial if he wants to fulfill his ambition of winning the PL/CL.
He's been offered £290k a week by City, and £350k by Manure. Manure are probably at best the third best team in the PL, Liverpool are amazing going forward and unlike Arsenal are addressing their defensive deficiencies. Therefore, I put them ahead of Manure in the pecking order. So for me Alexis is taking a big risk joining Maureen &Co.
If he goes to United, no doubt in my eyes he's doing it for the big pay cheque. It wouldn't surprise me if he stays until the end of the season, with City not budging on their transfer fee. So is Alexis a *word censored* or a bigger *word censored* but not quite as big a *word censored* as Wenger.

Let's not get duped into focusing on Sanchez's motives and directing any anger or frustration at him. Wenger's played that "get out of jail" card before, most notably when RvP joined the same club at the same stage in his career. I was one of the few who defended his decision. He was absolutely right: why should an elite professional footballer at 29 sacrifice a chance of winning something big by staying with a manager who was clearly finished six years ago when he made that call, let alone now when Sanchez surveys the wreckage. It's true that United are currently behind City (who isn't!) but they are the bird in hand: by the end of the season City may have lost interest. He has more chance of winning something serious at United in the next three years than by staying with the waste of space that is Wenger, that's for sure.nut flush gooner wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 6:25 pmSo Utd are favs to sign Sanchez now. Funny thing about sanchez's proposed move to manure is that I keep reading/hearing about a £35m fee, but I also hear rumours suggesting that that armenian mickeysomethingorother is going to be part of the deal - is it possible that no money will change hands ?? Surely the mancs wont give us the armenian and much cash for a guy with 6 months remaining on his contract ? I suspect some crafty fudging of figures if this deal goes through - the clubs will release statements suggesting that manure have paid £35m for sanchez, and then in a seperate deal we have paid £30m or thereabouts for their guy and that doesnt please me.

If Wenger had anything about him he would insist on Matic as part of the deal, as we don't have anyone of that quality to shield the defence. Mkhi is a clever little midfield creator, but those are 10 a penny at Wenger's Arsenalaugie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2018 7:51 pmFunny thing about sanchez's proposed move to manure is that I keep reading/hearing about a £35m fee, but I also hear rumours suggesting that that armenian mickeysomethingorother is going to be part of the deal - is it possible that no money will change hands ?? Are they? Not seen much creativity out on the pitch for the past year mate!

It says a lot that Wenger is willing to spend another £50m odd on Aubameyang just after spending that amount for Lacazette 6 months ago. Even he can see he's not good enough.
