It's back, other games this weekend

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ireland Under 17s absolutely screwed out of the quarter final tonight v holland - the game went to penalty shoot-out and if the dutch captain scored they would have won the game. However the keeper saved it only for the referee to adjudge that he came off the line early (which was a correct decision tbf - disgracefully though, the ref then issued the Irish keeper a second yellow card (received one in normal time for time wasting), sent him off and we then had to put the centre back in goals for the retaken penalty and of course the dutch scored
I have never seen a keeper sent off during a penalty shoot-out at any level much less at this level, but to do so during the european quarter finals is a fcuking disgrace :censored: :censored: :censored:
Don't tell me, the refs name was Henry

I know I have obviously bitten about the national side etc (and I genuinely never watch international football) but you oirish fellas that profess you aren't interested in internationals seem to watch an awful fuckin lot, I mean we've won the world cup at under 20 and under 17 level :barscarf: or something like that but I didn't watch one game but am obviously pleased for them.

You fellas need to pop out of the wardrobe and say Hiiiiiiii

Very competitive game at Villa Park tonight but lacking the quaslity and excitement of last night...Fulham are a better footballing team than Villa but I think Villa will beat them..

Fuck Fulham. Shite little club.

I like Sessegnon though.
Stop being a tart mate. Fulham is one of the best away days in football. And a proper old school football ground not a glass and steel corporate bowl like our Lego shit hole.
I don't like Fulham or any of the south London clubs for that matter.

How does that make me a tart? :rubchin:
Only a tart wouldn't know the answer to that.

The Irish goalkeeper involved has come out and said that technically the referee was correct, that he will learn from it and it is time to move on. Isn't that refreshing. ? No moaning or self pity , no hysterics about injustice for the small country. On the negative side for the keeper his acceptance of this and his refusal to pass the blame means he can never play for Liverpool.

Have you considered asking for the game to be replayed, doing a petition or that UEFA add another team to the semi-finals ?I seem to remember something along those lines a few years back.

Or we could just whine about it on every fucking football show for over 30 years those damn Argies oops I meant Dutchies! :D

I'm suprised Maradona or Koeman didn't end up playing for Ireland under Jack Charlton. Surely both of them once saw a picture of Dublin in a book or had a great, great grandmother who stopped there for a day. Wasn't that enough to get about 50 caps?

Or born in singapore like terry butcher. Or born in jamica like john barnes. Or brad shields (england rugby player) who was born in new zealand. Or Denny Solamona (another english rugby player) who was born an aussie. Or zola budd who was born south african. Or tony dorigo who was also an aussie. Or maybe kevin pieterson who was born in south africa.

Do I need to keep going ?

Dont get me wrong cos I know that we have used the grandparent rule for years (the Ireland rugby side is totally taking the piss over qualifying at the mo  ), but I also believe that the whole "people in glasshouses" saying has always applied to england as well, but it is the Irish who get hammered for it
