to be honest it is the lack of genuine ambition at the club which concerns me more than who gets the job.
if it is Arteta then what will he be expected to achieve ? I think the feeling will be aim for top 4 but don't worry if you don't make it because no one is expecting too much. His appointment will just be continuing the steady decline of expectations at the club.

Kroenke has stated numerous times that he has no interest in competing for the title - that is unacceptable and the fanbase now needs to unite to force him out - this is the 3rd biggest club in English football history here, not some impoverished mid table side that he wants to turn us into!

But he'll want CL qualification at the very least. It's not apparent to most people yet, but the club, and Kroenke, must know that Wenger has taken a wrecking ball to the clubs finances and Kroenke is going to need a manager who can maintain 4th place and keep the sheep happy. Lack of CL and hundreds of empty seats is what did for Wenger, be stupid to think the next guy will get away with it.

I read that the club's financial model is based around qualifying for the CL three years out of every four so that is going to be taking a bit of a hit over the next few years by looks of things.

Think Arteta is the one that is 36, Emery is 46. As you say a decent track record and I think would be good for where we are at the moment.

PLEASE let this be true. If Allegri isn't available or happening then Emery would be a far better choice than Arteta.

I will admit, Emery shouldn't be getting the job ahead of a Allegri, Jardim, Ancelotti et al, up seeing as we don't seem to be looking at that tier of a manger Emery is one of the better ones in the next tier.

I have been under selling Mr Emery a bit, he won THREE European trophies at Sevilla in a row.

And in his two year spell with PSG he won seven of the 8 domestic trophies available to him, including the treble in his final season.

Three European Cups in a row is some achievement.

His achievements at Sevilla rank more highly with me. PSG are way above any other team in France when it comes to financing, so they can pretty much guarantee the title every season, it doesn't take a special manager.

As I said earlier, he is about level for our expectations. Not in the top tier of managers, but certainly a replacement that Gooners should embrace.

Well unless the new manager is willing to pretend that Ozil is sick for every away game to the big boys, every Christmas and multiple other times throughout the season then he's going to have a problem with whoever we get in.

Is today April 1st ? That article says that ozil is likely to be inudated with offers should he decide to leave Arsenal - what half decent club would be interested in signing the guy given his performances in the past 12 months, and especially a guy on £350k per week ?

I think that we need to be realistic and acknowledge that there is no way a guy (arteta) would be willing to join s as assistant manager, when for the past week the world and it's mother has said that he is getting the managers job Plus lets be realistic and admit that there is no way that he would leave citeeh to be number 2 with us anyway
