I've always considered him to be overrated and never really understood the ridiculous overreaction from our fanbase when we signed him on deadline day five years ago. You'd think we signed Suarez or Bale the way some of our fans carried on.
the 'hysteria' was due to his goals and assists over a four year period at Real Madrid. he had the highest number of assists in the UK, German, Spanish and Italian leagues by a mile. in 2012 he had 16 goals and 35 assists for Madrid & Germany - he was on fire that year ( he had 11 goals and 26 assists in 2011).

he fed the ammunition to Ronaldo. that's why people were excited, but 2016 aside when he had 10 goals and 23 assists he's not repeated anywhere near that.

Ozil will play out of his skin this season, his motivation levels must be through the roof at the minute.

Brilliant for us. An in form Ozil is the best playmaker in the business.
So why the fuck hasnt he played out of his skin for the last 5 seasons?.Where was his fucking his motivation then?

DeBruyne?
He was being managed by Wenger.

ok, so i'm not really a big ozil fan at this moment, I'm more in the 'money-grabbing useless *word censored*' camp but let's give him 6 months under Emery and see if he can rediscover his form.

The rank lunacy of Wenger's later years are epitomised by Sanchez and Ozil really.

He sells Sanchez to manure putting the players desires ahead of the team. And gives Ozil a new deal with 350k a week and then doesn't build the system around him, just keeps on wedging him into a flawed system that doesn't get the best from him.
It really showed you how flawed Wenger was, I can go back to 2006, Henry to Barcelona was the start and we have been subsidising that stadium ever since...
The history of Arsenal FC was wiped away by the bean counters at the time, I mean who gets rid of a LISTED football stadium where legends played and were made, if I ever hold anything against my club, it would have to be the greed of the custodians who not only sold the club but put us in never ending limbo guided by a lunatic who actually put us back decades and left us without a pot to piss in as far as funds are concerned, bet he fucking took his payoff though...

I just read his actual statement, it runs to two whole pages- the racism was pretty bad - a German Politician called him a goat fucker ( ) and some other prominent guy told him to 'fuck off to Anatolia".

it also seems that the DFB guy who blamed Ozil publicly was pissed off with him because Ozil also met the President Of Germany and Grindel was left outside the room....

last night the club had a BBQ for the management and players and Ivan stood up and made a speech defending Ozil :
The chief executive made an unprompted speech in which he championed Arsenal's commitment to diversity and eradicating racism. He celebrated the multicultural nature of the Arsenal dressing room, name-checking Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi and also stressing Arsenal's support for Ozil.

Witnesses at the meeting said the tone and power of Gazidis' work made employees feel proud to work for the club and the speech ended with rousing applause.

I did make that suggestion the other night but am surprised that he took it seriously  I know that other people disagreed, but I felt that there was enough of the Ozil debate/argument - it seemed every time I logged on he was quoting some other ex-player or pundit having a go at Ozil, as if that meant that his argument was correct  Tbh I actually had more respect for his opinion when it was based on his own assessments and not those publicity seeking whores in the meeja, and I agreed with much of what blade himself was saying, but himself and DB10 had made their positions clear at that stage so it was time to move on
