OZIL - Merged Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I swear to god if this starts another tit for tat argument between you and blade, I am gonna petition Gooner Ed to get both of ye f.uckers banned off here :box:
:barscarf:

I posted it obviously a bit tongue in cheek but it does lend credence to the argument that some (not all though) of the stuff written and said about him is uninformed shit.

Noticeable too the dearth of responses on here to something praising one of our players for being one of the better players at the WC whilst playing in a shit underperforming German team huh?

Doesn't suit the "he's shit he's lazy" agenda huh?

Anyone else think that Ozil is shit and we'll lose if he's in the team

Only kidding  Read this at work yesterday and didn't know where to post it but this thread has injury in the title so here will do.

Encouraging that Dick buys into the whole ethos even if TOF knew better than the experts as the article appears to infer.

“There are defensive moments and attacking moments,” said Emery, ahead of facing Chelsea on Saturday. “Every player each needs this commitment. For me, we need to start together, whether we are attacking or defending – I want that from every player.

Hmm.. why is our new manager making these comments? -after one game!?.

So what happened to your better forum - over and out I believe was the parting shot.

While I do not put you in the trolling category and your posts are not abusive they are repetitive and quite frankly tiresome. Most of us want Ozil to produce his best form and we are greatly disappointed that it doen't happen on a more regular basis but sometimes that's just the way life works.

I am not interested in Ozil's past stats or what is being said about him in Germany or where ever, I am only concerned with whether Dick can get the team sorted into something resembling a formation that works for us and hopefully gets the best out of Ozil. After years of TOF buying whoever he fancied without much thought to the square pegs conodrum he was creating, we find ourselves with a new man trying to make it work. We all know that is going to take time so how about you concentrate on what does happen during this period and comment on what happens during the games rather than quoting whoever decides to slag Ozil off this week. Just a thought.

I thought you did the big one and left for a "better forum"? What happened? The mods told you to fuck off right? You are just coming across as a one dimensional troll now. Go back to your better forum. Everyone is sick of your tedious repetitive shit posts.

Another game v a top 5 opponent and Ozil disappears its fucking amazing how he keeps getting away with it. And still some Gooners cant see it.When we play a top 5 team with Ozil in the team we play with 10 men.

I am not an Ozil-hater by any stretch and taking a step back I think he is the biggest missed opportunity (in terms of wasted talent) in modern times.

But fuck me today was probably his worst game as an Arsenal player. Nothing to do with 'lack of effort' or even wasted chances, he was just anonymous. We created plenty of chances so it wasn't even like he was on a hiding to nothing, he was just abysmal and I can't remember him making any contribution.

He was poor today but even then he wasn't the worst player by a long shot. Boomerang Xhaka Bellend and Mickey Tarragon (apart from his goal) both CHs were all far worse.

This top 6 team myth is just that.... a myth. Name one Arsenal player that has turned up for every top 6 game over the last 5 years. Fuck it nane one that has delivered for even most of those games. He's been as good and as bad against the top 6 as every other Arsenal player.

Tbf mate miki got a goal and assist and on another day would have had 3 assists because he served the chances up on a plate but our finishing today was shocking.

Saying that we were poor for large parts of the game and I see no difference to last season yet apart from some awful attempt at passing from the back.

I'm sure it will get better, though this is our worst start since 92 when we came 10th.
