ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Messi is up for grabs then. :rubchin: :rubchin:
Drug taking midget prick from a cûnt club. This time tomorrow after they've got the attention they so desperately crave, he'll sign a 15 year contract on 800,000 grand a week. Then there'll be the usual bankrupt story and illegally funded debt buy-out. All while the press and UEFA suck them off. Fucking Hispanic bindippers.
 :high5:

Que (To be said in a Scouse accent).

100 million for Jack Grealish

If anyone needed to read a single sentence to explain the gradual death of PL football that would be it

So, would you want Arsenal to turn down the £120m bid from City for Saka in a couple of years time?

I couldn't give two fucks either way. Football just eats itself a bit more every season

It isn't my club. Its owned by a billionaire who can do what he wants with it regardless of what you or I think

What difference would it make?

I know getting players from chelski isn't that great for us, but they have 17 players too many, some of which would improve our squad, and a few would improve our first team.

Let’s face it - everyone is now a feeder club for Man City.

It is a shame for Villa - no decent player will stay at a smaller club anymore.
If this situation existed back in the 80s then Tony Adams would have left in about 1986 and we would not have had the success that followed.

Good observation. Look at the top leagues in major European footballing countries and they are all controlled now by one or, at most, two excessively wealthy clubs who pick off any player they want domestically or worldwide. Man City/ Chavs in England, PSG in France, Juventus in Italy, Bayern in Germany, those two corrupt cûnts in Spain, Ajax in the Netherlands to a certain extent. There is absolutely no way teams can compete and probably really won't. The moment one is threatened, they go mad and outspend every domestic rival and the gap gets wider.

As long as FIFA, UEFA and the national association's are getting their large cut of the deals they dont care. It's why the whole faux outrage over the Super League was a joke. The one and only reason it was clamped down on by the governing bodies would be that they wouldn't get anywhere near as a big a cut if the money. The whole 'Football is for the fans'slogan was a load of bollocks, real, old school, working class fans who helped build these clubs up over decades especially in the EPL were priced out 20 years ago.

£100M for Grealish, £80M for McGuire, christ £72M for Pepe exactly what had anyone them done to be worth that?

I cannot see any prospect of football, but in reality any sport these days going anywhere but further down the entertainment rabbit hole. The whole meaning of sport and being sportsmanlike or sportsmanship has gone down the fucking pan, the only reason the Olympics is happening is because of money. They've just cancelled the Rugby League world cup because of Australia and New Zealand pulling out due to public health concerns but both countries were happy to send hundreds of athletes to a city which has a Lockdown in effect :banghead:

Just wait until the game is broken in to quarters rather than halves and each quarter has a different sponser.......We'll all hate it, but there will be those that lap it up and that all you need to keep the gravy train running. In a world where the like of Kim K can suck a dick on video and end up with 230 million "people" thinking she's the business the sooner the better we all come to terms with the game that once was is at this stage a distant memory.

"This quarter is in association with Instagram, first team to a million likes gets a bonus goal". This quarter is sponsored by Netflix, switch over to watch the period on our service. Quarter three is available only on Amazon TV. Remember, you'll need your exclusive Amazon Prime Soccer Glasses to watch the action. Order now for delivery in time for the action." The 4th period is available on Google Play, remember you can't just purchase this period and no cancellations or refunds if the game is shit or your team is getting thrashed."

This will never happen. The failed ESL has been talked about for 40 years, look what happened when they tried that. I'm sure if we were owed by a country that has unlimited resources we'd be living it up too. Had we sold the club to Abramavich in 2003, then we'd have had the same level of success, just think about that. Instead, we built a new stadium and sold our soul to the american billionairre. Russian billionaires definitly more successful at running a football club.

Russian or American makes no difference at all.

It's down to the individual and how they run a 'business '.

Kroenke runs us with the bottom line as God. Abramovic runs Chelsea as a bit of a play thing.
