Not surprised to hear this , the players look strangled to me , not allowed to express any freedom of thought and movement.

I’m now at the stage where I think……whatever it takes to get him and Edu sacked. This season is fucked already so if we lose the next 8 games, so be it. Arsenal are dead under Arteta.

I've often wondered if they are being over coached. Looks a real possibility.gooner265 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 10:53 amArteta has doubled down on his training philosophy this season, with players reporting intense sessions focused on playing the ball out from the back. Combine the over coaching (which is plain to see) with constant rotation and its not hard to see where the problems are. Football is a simple game really - although I only ever played to a reasonable amateur standard, the best managers were the ones who kept things simple and where you knew your role......especially as a young playerClummo99 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 11:27 amI've often wondered if they are being over coached. Yeah I can understand the practice of drilling a defence as GG did but attacking play, particularly flair players, needs to be let off the leash and just be allowed to play to a certain degree.

He is obsessed with playing out from the back.....thats ok if you have the players to do itClummo99 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 11:27 amI've often wondered if they are being over coached. Mikel Arteta’s situation as manager of Arsenal is far from being secure & he could be shown the door. The club could appoint Antonio Conte, who would ask for Lautaro Martinez as a signing. Lautaro would fall at his former manager’s feet. [@tuttosport via @Sport_Witness] #afc

Yep and that's exactly why we bought Ben White. Nothing to do with his defensive ability, just the fact that he can bring the ball out and pass it.Redarmy wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 1:03 pmHe is obsessed with playing out from the back.....thats ok if you have the players to do itClummo99 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 11:27 amI've often wondered if they are being over coached. Yeah the same Conte that walked away from Inter after their first Serie A title in over a decade because the board wouldn’t back him is definitely gonna rock up to us and have sugar daddy Stanley give him all the monies.Clummo99 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 1:37 pmIf only!!!!Arsenal Till I Die wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 1:22 pmMikel Arteta’s situation as manager of Arsenal is far from being secure & he could be shown the door. Nope. Walked out the door at Inter because instead of being backed by their board to improve the squad further (after winning the league and breaking Juve’s complete domination of the division) he was told they were selling Lukaku and he wasn’t going to get a wad of cash to reinvest.
No way he then walks into the Josh, Edu, Stan shit show at ours after that. Laughable rumour.
Re: Mikel Arteta, success or failure? - Merged thread.
Appointing Conte simply won't happen. The board will commit to this clown and give him the funds to sign Odegaard and a striker
I think our net transfer spend at the end of this window will top 100m and there's no way they would then fire his arse and appoint a manager who would demand more
Only if we get into a relegation battle can I see them eventually caving in and firing him

There's also the very real possibility that no one on our board even knows who Antonio Conte is ffs.

They probably think he is the 1970s boxer .DB10GOONER wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 3:54 pmThere's also the very real possibility that no one on our board even knows who Antonio Conte is ffs.![]()
