As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
88 games in charge now, and not a hint of improvement anywhere on the pitch.
Defence has gone backwards - absolutely all over the shop in the first 2 games. Totally unprepared for the season
Over coached. Boring, sterile football with zero end product
I said in his first 20 games I hadn't seen Arsenal play such tedious, mind numbing football since the mid 90s and its no better after almost 90 games - in fact its worse because back then we had one world class striker who still did the business, and now we don't.
You forgot to mention our new set piece coach that pep's water boy brought from citeeh - concede 2 from set pieces last week, and this week have about a dozen corners where that pepe c.unt couldnt beat the front post

Yeah, that's shambolic too mate. I gave it a mention on the match thread earlier - is there a more harmless team from set plays than us?
Is there any other club in European football that’s returned 5 covid positive tests in the first 7 days of the season? I’d be fucking amazed if there was.
It’s a shocking indictment of the club, from the manager down and sends alarm bells ringing for me. Ben White is only here 5 minutes and already he’s got it, there’s been a massive fuck up somewhere along the line with regard to the protocols and it’s made us look like complete amateurs.
Plenty of time for a few more to succumb to it during the week I suppose before we stumble to city next Saturday after which we’ll find ourselves with 0 points, 0 goals and rooted rock bottom to the league table.
A shambles of epic proportions both on and off the field and shows the club up for exactly what it is - in complete disarray.

Half the team went to Auba’s kids’ birthday party. Now Covid is ripping through the squad. Our Club captain, on the eve of the new season, decided to risk the start of the season. Prize idiot!

I speculated about that on the match thread prior to kick off wondering if that was indeed the cause of the outbreak.
I’d seen his Insta story showing the big crowd at the party all dressed in fucking Spider-Man costumes and then low and behold a few days later we get the chaos leading to up to the Brentford game after we had the 4 positive cases.
Probably no way of knowing for sure if the party was indeed the root cause but you’d have to imagine there is a very good chance it was considering who tested positive after it.
350 grand a week and he showed complete fucking disregard to the club and has most likely played a significant part in what has been the absolute cluster fuck of a start to our season.
The club rewarded him handsomely with a bumper new contract last year, then backed him massively by allowing him miss games when he returned home to his mother who was ill (where he subsequently picked up malaria) and this is how he pays us back.
Piss fucking poor by him and coupled with his form being in the absolute shitter the whole situation surrounding him now must be a massive worry to all.
Arteta looked defeated in the last 5 minutes of that match. He should walk now. We've gone backwards since our pre-season match against the chavs 3 weeks ago. This club needs Antonio Conte, but at this stage I'd take Eddie Howe. At least he knows what he's doing.
Players don't believe, supporters don't believe, I think the Kroenkes no longer believe. You don't have to know a thing about football to see this team is bereft of direction, of a plan of style of play and leadership.
We look so amateurish at set pieces, players throwing themselves at the ball. No one attacked the ball with conviction and commitment at any corner It's embarrassing.
When other big clubs give their manager a one/two season get out of free card it’s because the manager is, at that moment, one of the most highly rated managers in the world. See Klopp for a recent example. Arteta has zero qualifications to be Arsenal manager. He shouldn’t even be at a Championship side, logically he should have started off in League one/two.
You wonder whether behind all the interview gibberish he’s looking forward to being sacked ASAP - before his reputation is permanently destroyed. He’s no top class manager but he’s no idiot either, and he probably must realize he’s totally out of his depth - most are at our club in fairness, as it’s an absolute wreck. It needs a hugely experienced and talented individual to steady the ship.
If he goes now he can point to “exceptional circumstances” of Covid etc, plus he did get an FA Cup. Hey, wasn’t all bad.
If he stays another couple of months and gets sacked when we’re 15th after a dozen games it will look brutal and might set him back years in his career ambitions.

Understand your thinking, but imo we had someone to steady the ship when what we needed was a guy to come in and shake the ship up. I am sick of hearing all this bullshit about what a poor squad we have - I know that we are not world beaters, but a good manager like conte would come in and change the mentality and commitment of these players almost overnight, and imo that alone would raise our game by 15-20%. People talk about the players we are missing at the mo - we had a team out at brentford that should have absolutely wiped the floor with them, and yet we hear all this b.ullshit about missing auba and laca etc

Don't forget Steve Round . He was assistant to the Wally with the Brolly at England and has been binned by Southgate.Fat Sams's assistant at Newcastle, Moyes assistant at Everton and Utd. All 3 eventually got sacked playing dire football with him as an assistant or coach. Great CV.
Yet another record broken by Arteta and this one is a good one - (from the Independent) - 'For the first time in their 118 seasons in England's top four divisions, Arsenal have opened a League campaign with two defeats and no goals after two matches.'
“A lot of people try to speak and to kill a little bit the players and the team,” he told the club’s official site . “But the strongest thing to do at the moment is to be together, and only together will we be stronger and give the results on the pitch after.

Perhaps we should do that with their wages. Play now and when you win we will give you your wages. Deal?
