As things stand, we have Martinelli who could be our “internal solution “ at centre forward as well as Auba, Eddie and Laca. Not ideal but better than wasting money in January if we can’t get the right player.

Play Pepe as a striker, he can't be any worse than on the wing

He might've / could've been an interesting option. Haven't heard much about him in this window.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I don't see it like that. When Auba has played as the lone striker in this formation he's largely stunk the place out. He can't hold the ball up. Martinelli can't do it either and Eddie has proven endless times he can't
Yes they are all names on a squad list but not one of them is capable of playing lone striker. Unless he changes the formation somehow we've basically got Lacazette as the only option

Out of interest DB is your Granny available?

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
Agreed mate, they’re all flawed options. Even Laca who simply isn’t a goal threat. A striker is by far our biggest need.SteveO 35 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:02 pmI don't see it like that. It’s a total mess but, up to now, I’m not seeing a striker who has been transferred in January that would have been a great signing for us? - Vlahovic maybe but that probably wasn’t ever a serious option. Who else has moved clubs? (There might be loads but my old brain has gone blank

Available for what ?

You'd like to think that our worldwide scouting army and clever negotiations and commercial team could come up with some targets wouldn't you?g88ner wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 4:08 pmAgreed mate, they’re all flawed options. I mean how different will it be in the Summer?
When Everton were in disarray before getting Fat Frank in, it might have been a good moment to get Calvert Lewin in?
Vlahovic was never coming. You'd have thought one of the other options would have been worked upon.
Oh well, we are truly fucked now

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
I absolutely love Auba, the best striker at the club since Thierry but he has acted the absolute fucking c.unt since the NLD when he was fucking around the streets in his Lambo and turned up late. Whatever about his dip in form since signing the contract it's from that day on that I've been done with him and this latest stunt of turning up in Barcelona to the surprise of both them and us is the final straw.

So Aubamayang rocked up at Barcelona without an invite ?
Our best goal scorer literally begging another club to take him. What a shambles.
If we don’t sign someone in the next few hours then this has to be the worst transfer window ever! It is unbelievable we haven’t signed anyone.

Aaron Ramsey signing for Rangers, strange move.
Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
If no one comes in which looks likely thats goodbye to any slim top 4 chance...incredible if we sign no one

Talks between #Arsenal and #FCB over a loan move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have broken down. (Ornstein)
