As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Apart friom being largely responsible for Saka's goal and being the only link between defence midfield and attack . Not to mention having a goal contentiously ruled out .
You might be right.
How was Laca’s goal contentious? It was definitely offside mate. Was it Xhaka? I can’t remember.
Anyway, I like Laca and I love his work ethic so I don’t want to turn this into a bashing. If you’re happy with his contribution against Brentford then that’s fine mate.
By the way, don’t underestimate Odegaard and Partey. Laca wasn’t the only link between defence, midfield and attack.
Had auba been finishing like that we'd be 3rd and he'd have been on double figures for the season. He wasn't and at one point, especially the Watford home game, it was almost like he was sabotaging the team effort to score. So, time to move on from him.
Which is fine apart the fact we haven’t moved on because Nketiah is a massive downgrade on Auba.
In fact, we’re so short of options in attack that it wouldn’t surprise me if we end up trying ESR or Pepe as a false 9 in the next few weeks.
We need 40 year old Laca to start clicking in the final third. He was awful against Brentford.
I've suggested trying ESR at no.9 he's scoring and the play between him Martinelli and Saka would work. He could play the role Firminio does for Salah and Mane.
Laca still younger than kanu ever was when he was playing for us.
A lot of speculation Chelsea might get caught up in the Russia Ukraine thing. Apparently Roman might get sanctioned to moon.
I'm sure I heard he's set up some sort of trust fund for the club to regularly receive money, but given their vast squad they could easily sell 20 players and not have any impact on the first team squad. They're not going to collapse any time soon.

Problem is Kanu was never the main focal point of our attack on a full-time basis. He was really a back up player or an option off the bench. And he was playing with proven world class players around him. At present we are asking a pretty much past it Laca to be the focal point in a team full of either inexperienced kids or shit like Clive.
I was never convinced that he knew what he was trying to do .
That's the way he played. He was never trying to do anything, he just did it. Totally off the cuff and instinctive.
I recall first seeing him play on the right wing for Ajax as a gangly teenager. Looked totally out of place but his ability was obvious. I loved watching him play.

His back heel goal against Middlesbrough was unreal

Kanu never played in Europe as a gangly teenager, allegedly. Even TA6 took the piss about his age when at Portsmouth.

Teenager or early twenties, whatever. He was still young, gangly and not in his 30's. Don't be so pedantic.
