🚨 Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle with Chelsea to sign forward Kai Havertz. Deal for 24yo Germany international is worth around £65m. Personal terms are already in place, attacker’s medical will follow in due course @TheAthleticFC #AFC #CFC
Gonna drink a pint of toilet duck with my dinner tonight :suicide:

I'm not a massive fan of Kovacic or anything, but how the fcuk can city get to buy him for 30m whilst we are paying 65m+ for havertz ??? What kind of twisted logic is going on here ? Kovacic is basically an ok player but is at least as good if not better than havertz, and we are paying double ?? Someone shott arteta or edu before this deal goes through ffs :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:
Kovacic is nearly 30, Havertz is 24.

The price for Havertz is apparently 50m plus addons.

Possibly relevant?

Just saying.
Its also 50m over three years

Understand Saudi clubs are prepared to pay €40m in installments to Arsenal for Thomas Partey. He’s a concrete option for Saudi — his exit is possible as revealed on Sunday. 🚨⚪️🔴🇸🇦

No decision yet on player side. He also has approaches from Europe. No new deal talks at #AFC.
You can pretty much guarantee we are the only club offered installments
Exactly what I thought b4 I posted the rumour

Well hopefully he'll tell Wet Spam to poke it if Utd come calling with a 100m bid. Tough one because he doesn't want to piss off the Spammer fans.

Don’t worry TeeCee, we’ll sign him. Arsenal will sign Havertz and Rice just to piss me off, while the chavs sign Nkunku and Caicedo and probably for less money.

I’ve no doubt that Nkunku will score far more goals than Havertz and that Caicedo will be a bigger success than bang average Rice.

I’m gutted. Fuck knows how they work out our transfer plans. As IW8 said, signing Havertz is evidence that Arteta thinks Jesus is good enough as our centre forward.
Think havertz is replacing clive not a striker , Eddie has also been made available to clubs so a striker may be incoming.

Absolutely, the fuck up the Chavs made was playing him as a striker, he's a midfielder really and will offer 100 times more than Clive without all the red mist and brain farts too. A good move.

I pointed this out many years ago and got hammered but maintain there's defo a correlation to those lefties woke posters who perceive/take offence at nothing being akbs (back then) and now artrta can do know wrongs, with some notable exceptions of course!!
You also made loads of comments on another thread in another section of the forum, that are now being found out to be completely incorrect. No need to make generalisations, just because the rest of us don't watch GB news doesn't make us left wing or woke.
Touched a nerve?!

Brexit thread?

Found out as completely incorrect..OK...good luck with that one cause and effect happy to see proof. Way to defect and derail.

But this is transfer thread. So not bothering with you on that, but don't call other posters as racist/report to the mods as suspect you do, when it's patently not.

Absolute joke. He may be ok but the least possible priority when we need a goalscorer, 2 cms, a rb and a cb.

And we all know xhaka is staying.

Unless he is thinking Balogun can step up. I thought Smith Rowe was being prepared for Clive's position. I will be really pissed off if Smith Rowe now decides to leave.

I'm confident Havertz will be a good player for us, he is quality, he hasn't been for Chelsea but sometimes a player doesn't work at a particular club.......we know that, look at Bergkamp at Inter, Henry at Juve etc. Not many Gooners moaning they were shit at their previous clubs!

Havertz is literally just a few days older than Eddie (let that one sink in), yet he has 37 caps for Germany, in total he's played
301 games
80 goals
47 Assists
This isn't a one season wonder Pepe, having looked good in a piss poor French league for one year, Havertz has proven quality. He wouldn't have been my first choice but I do think he is a quality addition to our midfield/front line.

Looks like we may have had our chips with Rice, ManUre about to get involved it's rumoured.......would be so Arsenal........

What are you basing that on ??? In his last seven seasons he scored 17 league goals one season and after that he only hit double digits one other season (12), so wtf is giving you this belief that he will bang in goals for us ??

Again are you just pulling that out of your arse or what are you basing that on ?? People come out with unsubstantiated shit sometimes to justify a signing cos they know that nothing in the players history suggests that he will ever be a top striker. Last month I read a lot of bu!!shit comments about how arteta is a fan of smith-rowe and is planning on playing him in the swiss turds position - again absolutely nothing to back up this drivel, but a lame effort to defend the clueless manager. Fans know that the majority desperately want the swiss turd gone so are using him as the lightening rod all the time - appease the smith rowe fans with rumours suggesting he is replacing xhaka, quieten the havertz dissenters by suggesting that he is being signed to replace xhaka

Its all bu!!shit and our manager and edu are clueless

Maybe, but if so they doesn't excuse the lunacy. We don't need a replacement for Xhaka (if he goes...fingers crossed), because he should never have been anywhere near the team regardless. We have options already, primarily Smith-Rowe and Trossard. As you know, I've said since the season before last that Arteta clearly doesn't fancy ESR and this signing makes that clearer imo. The boy needs to move on for the good of his career.

We have urgent need for two quality performers at centre mid and for a proper goalscoring striker, (I'm not that worried about the defence, which I personally don't think is too bad if given the proper cover from midfield that it rarely gets), so blowing 60+ M on a 3 year disappointment at Chelsea makes absolutely no sense to me.

We've been weak as fuck in centre mid for years and Partey, or whoever replaces him, can't hold the area alone. Pushing Xhaka forward meant that he wasn't around to do the defensive side of the job (just as well, because he'd proved himself shit at it), but we need two proper centre mids, at least one of whom is box to box. If Arteta decides to play Havertz in an advanced midfield role, then it continues to leave us weak in the middle and if he thinks he's a box to box player, then he's seen a lot more than I have, because he doesn't seem to have a tough, combative centre mid style.

Let's hope I'm proven wrong, because for the life of me this looks like a huge roll of the dice and makes no sense given who else we need. Should have saved the money, used ESR and Trossard and put the 60+ m towards help paying for a top striker. Bonkers.
