ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not been a fan of the thought of paying £100mil for Rice, but it's equally embarrassing us looking behind the sofa for some spare change to spread over X amount of years just for Man Shieky to come in and complete the signing like a big club should.

Weve been too hung up on throwing silly money
at Chelsea for Havertz when Rice (or Caicedo) should have been the priority and then after that's sorted add numbers to the squad and replace Xhaka and Partey.

Xhaka won't be going anywhere at this rate. It's gone awfully quiet after all that shite about him agreeing terms before the end of last season :?

Arsenal plan confirmed for Kai Havertz: medical later this week, formal contract already sent and being checked then it will be official. ⚪️🔴 #AFC

£65m fee with add-ons confirmed, also long term deal for Havertz who’s set to become first Gunners signing this summer.

Lads as an Irishman I can vouch for Declan Rice.

When he says he'll play for a team he won't back out of it

Rice isnt worth the money it would cost to get him, so its no big deal imo - citeeh can afford to spunk 100m on a player and left them on the bench, but when we splash that type of money, imo he has to be a starter and must be a big upgrade on what we already have, and imo he isnt

My concern here is that we chose not to go for caciedo cos we were putting all our eggs in the rice basket, and now it looks like caciedo is chav bound so if we dont buy rice has the club got a Plan C ? I know the southampton player has been mentioned, but to me he seems more of a long term project given his age and inexperience, so if he is signed as our partey replacement, then the club better not start blowing their trumpets like we have pulled off the deal of the century.

And to echo that, I will add that if he goes to effort of learning club songs (or rebel anthems  ) then you can rest assured that he wont do a u turn and start singing other club songs in next few months

You also made loads of comments on another thread in another section of the forum, that are now being found out to be completely incorrect. No need to make generalisations, just because the rest of us don't watch GB news doesn't make us left wing or woke.
Touched a nerve?!

Brexit thread?

Found out as completely incorrect..OK...good luck with that one cause and effect happy to see proof. Way to defect and derail.

But this is transfer thread. So not bothering with you on that, but don't call other posters as racist/report to the mods as suspect you do, when it's patently not.
You didn't touch a nerve back then or now. Clearly chief Mod thought otherwise. And if you'd like to repeat what you said all those years ago on that thread I am all ears.
Guess I did touch a nerve, no need to repeat I'm alright jack and chief mod agreed with any one with an ounce of sense that using a non pejorative adjective is not racist. Anyway back to transfers.
How could you touch a nerve when you've been proven wrong? If you had half an ounce of a backbone about you, you'd appear on that thread and back up what you said several years ago. But you won't so yeah back to transfers.
Proven (hate to have you on a jury with your definition of proof!)...and you would know about backbone would you? posting on a forum takes a lot of that does it...jeez. pigeon chess at its finest. Sure you will have the last word as ever, and find offence somewhere and report it as ever.

🚨 || Partey is ready to give the green light to a move to Juventus. The Italian side will negotiate an €18-20m (£15-17m) deal for the player with Arsenal [Via - @DiMarzio].

Foreign clubs simply won't spend what PL clubs will, who in the PL will buy Partey?, my guess is he wants to distance himself from alleged legal issues and move abroad as well.

Take what we can and move on.. Balogun and Tierney we should get better fees for due to their age etc.

If City get Rice and Chavs get Caicedo we are going to look like prize chumps though!.

So we've spunked 65mil on Havertz and if we get Rice it'll be 100mil on him..But we're punting Partey for 15-17..didn't we pay about 45 for him :rubchin: Another thing I noticed the other day..Maitland Niles released..didn't Wolves offer us something like 20mil for him a couple of seasons back?? But we told them to go away.. 2 seasons of loans later(we would've shelled out at least half his wages) and we let him go for hee haw..At the same time dippers* get McAllister for peanuts and Kovacic goes to city for 30mil..

I don't see the relevance in Kovacic to be honest. He's not that good and he's old. If we could have got him for 15m I wouldn't have been interested, we need much better than him and younger than him. Partey will be 20 odd million because he's 30yo and he's physically fucked (I actually think he could easily be 35 or 36)! But most of all, he has a shitstorm coming his way during next season and he ain't gonna be playing every week OR playing very well I suspect!, whilst the 'event' goes on!

For years we've wanted to be back in with the big boys, to do that we have to spend big money, that's the game these days but both the Chavs and Citeh have shown that if you throw loads of money at top players......it works.....fuck me, what a surprise!! So if we do genuinely have ambition, we should be paying 100m for Rice and another 150m on other players we need to boost the squad with quality because last season we were fucked because we had about 18 players we could really call on who were at a certain level, we need more this year so spend some big money Arsenal FFS, give us a chance at least!

The only thing that will cause a bigger fucking meltdown than us signing Declan Rice will be not signing him
