ALL Transfer talk - merged thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Retro, absolutely mate. I'm taking a risk saying I think they'll be good, but I do genuinely have a feeling that they will be good, particularly Rice.
Havertz is a very good player but we need to play him in midfield because he is NOT a striker!! So he is the one who may not do as well if he's played in a shit position.
But I am confident!! :barscarf:

I hope you're right TeeCee. I'll be chuffed if they both turn out well. As you say, Havertz is the far bigger risk.

There is now an agreement in principle in place for Timber to join #AFC for a total package of just over £40m.🇳🇱

MeToo Mate, I have no idea why? But just a "feeling": (Ooooh! missus! )

Also the Kranies have opened their considerable wallets thus far, and if IF the season goes well, they will have no excuses not to back Arteta after this coming season... :barscarf:

Ethan Nwaneri has signed scolarship deal at Arsenal — then agreed first pro deal to be signed when he will turn 17. It’s done, exclusive news confirmed 🚨🔴⚪️

Contract will be valid for 2.6 years — it’s the highest salary offer made by #AFC for Academy player.

I don't know anything about this kid, but from the interest in him, I'm assuming he's a very bright prospect. Anyone know much about him?

Hearing there’s a bit to do. We can’t come up with the cash.
Sounds about right
"Right, um, 105m you say, old chap? Hmm, right, umm, will you take 5 instead?"
And will you take by installments over five years?
About 20 odd years ago, my sister and I were sat at home one Saturday evening and thought it would be a bit of a laugh to start joining in on those bid up tv auction channels. We started ringing up and bidding on things like duvets and sofas and dinner plate sets without ever thinking that it would be taken seriously or that we'd actually win the stuff. We just liked watching the prize change on the screen. Then they started ringing us up to ask about payment and we didn't have a fucking clue what to do so just stopped answering the phone. This whole Declan Rice bid of £105m feels a bit like that. Lob a big offer in just to see it in the papers but then start getting worried when you might actually have to go through with paying it. Perhaps, they've gone down the same route as my sister and I and have just stopped answering emails or picking up the phone in the hope that everyone just forgets and moves on.

I suspect we are delaying the deal to at least tomorrow as 1st July is the start of a new financial year for FFP.
